It really was pot luck how I ended up getting to live there, the advert was on Rightmove so open to all but it was local knowledge that helped me realise what living there meant - with the access and location not really being acknowledged in the advert.
It also was a sad place at times, the green man was supposed to be the joker and the grey lady and daughter very sad.
Another story that struck me as both happy and sad (but more sad, sorry!) was the young girl who was a final resident of the estate, and aged 12 wrote a book about her time there and this contains many ghost stories.
There is an analysis and pdf file here if you want to take a look, the pdf file has some stories from the book.
I am off to buy a copy of the book now, only just learned about it and am very excited to read it

Ahh that chair did my head in haha... In the winter pic you can see (just about) that there is something under the right hand rear leg which is a bit of broken brick.
I have no idea why two broken chairs were put there but they were otherwise identical. The broken parts of the first chair are there on the floor, so maybe it broke there and then they put the less broken second one there?
It was my spot, no one else ever went there and in the winter pic those footsteps are all mine.
That really was a conundrum I never worked out.
It was my pleasure to write these, I have sat on them for a number of years but they deserved to be told, and I'm glad to have a great audience to tell them to here.
I always check back to this thread hoping to see more stories, so I hope there are many more to come

Awesome story, and nicely scribed! Pics feels like they could be from the film 'The Others' which is one of my favs and arguably one of Nicole Kidmans finest!
I've always been cynical about the supernatural on the whole; but as you describe you cannot escape the 'feelings' when your presented with a paranormal situation; its like your body and mind are alerting / trying to protect you . . .

Great thread. I remember reading most of the posts a few years ago but stumbled upon it again on this new account.
Definitely going to regret reading these though when it comes to my next night fishing trip.
Personally i've not experienced anything that hasn't had some logical explanation (and i hope i don't ever) but my sister and mother had lots of instances over the years.
Something about elephant ornaments facing the wrong way and such things.

Having been a fan of this thread since its inception I had to read it all again the other day. I've always loved the Tony Mile's stories posted here from his book ‘Big Fish Angling' so thought sod it and bought a copy off eBay. It's actually a great book and I highly recommend it.
