'I'm struggling to think of a single thing I've actually learned from The Grand Fishing Adventure episodes.'

I learnt not to watch it.

I don't watch it to learn anything and there's no chance of latent learning in any vid I watch as I tend to fast forward through rig or bait explanations. I just watch to be entertained with the hope of seeing some nice fish and this series of GFA has failed on both.

I think if OMC seriously attempt a 'in road' into bait it'll be the twig that broke the camels back, I can't see it taking off, but I could be wrong.

I quite liked that second 1 too

I'm just stuck in my ways and not easily disuaded, though my tackle box would disagree with all the components that've never been used

I don't feel like I learned anything new, but more had what I knew confirmed. Scaling down& trying to keep it subtle if you want to avoid spooking, but also that there's often less wary carp that that will eat nearly anything in front of them.

A lot of the show was over the top & unnecessary, but that's standard for a lot of TV shows. I felt river monsters was often borderline, but I absolutely loved that show.

Quote... I think if OMC seriously attempt a 'in road' into bait it'll be the twig that broke the camels back

Blank cardboard pop ups being poured from bags of 50,000, put through Ali's 'Multi layered curing process' apparently. There will be some poor mugs who fall for this.

As pointed out in this thread the bloke seems to be going through some sort of breakdown before the financiers finally pull out.

None of this is my fault. I sat and watched Mark Gimp Holmes do the exact same thing when we very first started. He pulled the wool over DNA's eyes, but hurt our business a lot for years. Me and Jason of DNA have become what I consider good friends since back then. We make cured Bug hook baits which should tell you all you need to know. Nothing to do with DNA what happened with MH. They just got deceived by an influencer back then who was reading everything I wrote on the RMC forum and repeating it in CarpWorld. These people would sell their own granny for a strip of bait stops. Ali is next in line it would seem. There's been so many more too.

But now I'm going to start calling these absolute mugs out for what they are, in public. No more ripping off novices off my back.

I've had a nice dig on our Faceache page today that the whole of Europe will read. If Ali thinks he can sell his absolute crap off our back, he is in for a very rude awakening.

"twisted boosted multi-curing process"

He is literally just having a laugh right?
It reads like simultaneously an in-joke addressed to those who know better and a piss-take of beginners.

Nah fella, this is called throwing as much crap at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Magic Twigs, Rusting Swiss army knives, now imported cheap bait from Europe and "multi layered curing process" hook baits on blank Munch baits pops so i'm told. I don't want to have to be saying all this. Ali is forcing me to say all of this. But if he thinks that ripping us off like so many others have tried is going to work, he's wrong, it reeks of utter desperation.

This is standard carp fishing. You lot get crap in the end because of idiots like him.

What do I do? Sit back and let him spout all his crap? Every angler he sells those crap cured hook baits to is a customer gone for us in the future. I have had SOOOOO many customers who have eventually become long term punters of ours tell me they nearly never purchased our products, because they assumed they would be buying crap like Mr Holmes cured hook baits they purchased previously.

It waters down what we do totally. It's all bull****.

There is no morals in the carp fishing industry among their type. They are all shiesters, there is no other word for it. I got upset with Handcraft Gav when he turned up on this forum claiming to be 'curing' cardboard pop ups. It's a sales pitch. But let's have it right, it's a sales pitch off of our backs. If any of them even had the first clue what we were doing it would be more swallowable. It's just blatantly trying to rip anglers who don't know off, to sell some stuff. There is no other word for it.

We have consultants for nigh on EVERY bait firm buying our stuff at full price. We never get mentioned, whilst the companies all mass sell tonnes of bait off the back of results with our stuff. Mis selling to the public on a grand scale. They know what their anglers are using. I've had enough of it now. These mugs are going to start getting called out in public. If you read some of the constant adverts from the bait firms claiming this and that, when they 110% know the fish were caught on our stuff it would make your toes curl. They are just ripping off novices.

He knows what he is up too, it's desperation I am being told by figures high up in the industry. But none of that is my problem. I am not his fall guy. He is the straw that has broke the camels back as far as I am concerned regarding all this.

We are copying no one. We have always followed our own path. Do you think he would be doing this had the Twig worked out? Of course not. It's just throwing as much crap against the wall until finally something sticks... That, or the investors eventually pull out.

"It's come to our attention recently that yet another new bait firm is claiming to be 'curing' blank cardboard pop ups. As flattering as all this is, please be advised this is just shameless people trying to sell novice anglers very cheap pop ups, at an incredibly inflated price. This has gone on ever since we first started in some form or another. It seems after the utter failure of the stupid Twiglet and park bench, now that silly sausage off the TV is the latest to start 'curing' in his clueless dreams.

'Curing' is the name, rightly or wrongly given to the process we put our 100% food/cork hook baits through. It's a five stage process, that is only even possible with real food. It involves much time and love. Not cheap blank pop ups tipped out of a bag of 50,000 with a splash of flavour poured onto them. These people have absolutely zero clue what the process is that we use to help gain the results that we do for our customers. No one does, it's always been a very closely guarded secret. It's all just a desperate attempt to ride off someone else's back. For many years we have just sat back and laughed as all this behaviour has gone on. They come & they go. But now is the time to start calling out this absolute rubbish within the industry. The Sugars2 and the curing process that created it are nearly twenty years old now. Don't be fooled by entertainers who jump up and down and shout a lot. There is, and always has been only one 'cured' hook bait on the market. Everything else claiming to be so, is just trying to imitate what we do, without a single shameless clue. I do completely understand that we have a totally different clientele to these companies, who are only targeting novices. Our customers are far more established carp anglers... We don't 'do' silly entertainers/influencers. So to most of you this is already common knowledge. But these clowns need calling out now. 🤡"

^^^^^^^^^

That's a post on our social media right now. I'm waiting for Ali. Everyone knows who I am talking about including him. So where is he? One of his fanboys bring him to our social media now. I'll have it with that absolute noddy mug wherever he wants it, the more public the better.

This is about more than just that idiot. But clearly his tie up with AD too. Munch baits are their dross. This is no coincidence that moments after we start stocking The TackleBox & FishOn tackle this comes to fruition. Johnson Ross & Yateley angling are next. AD will NEVER be stocked with our products after today.

I hope Ali and his dross go out of business really soon for the good of real carp fishing.

Since my public comments on here & Faceache, there has been zero mention again about curing on any advertising.

The baits went onto the AD website yesterday, referred to as boosted.

Thank you Ali. And good luck with your bait venture.

Mark - surely you don't need to worry about a company like this? I always see you as a bespoke company making quality, not quantity. That idiot will have a massive marketing budget, stick to doing your thing , beat your own drum, help people catch carp like you always have since way back on the Cemex forum - the truth always comes out in the end, and you will be on the right side. I read you have not been well concentrate on getting yourself better. I am off with a couple of pots of your finest, so all the best.

Don't need to worry about any of them. I have always sat back and said nothing. This has been going on for so long now. I have always just put my head down & got on with us.

This time I was advised by people within the industry to say something very publicly to put a stop to all this. This was not just about this being spoken about here. There are currently hook bait companies continually using our company name on their website & advertising, whilst claiming to be 'curing' card board pop ups. Statements like "A new generation of Specialized Hook Baits" being the latest. Whilst at the same time members of this forum who ask me questions about bait, come post links of this rubbish in front of my face. That kind of stuff.

This all has to stop. That above will get dealt with by solicitors, not public statements. Continually using our business name in adverts and written into the coding of their website, whilst ripping us off is just a step to far. That is just pathetic & shameless.

But the time had come where I had to say something about it all publicly. That was what I was being advised. As far as this company here in this thread is concerned that is the end of it. That's why I thanked Ali & wished him well with his bait venture.

In a market so saturated, he needs to mobilise the social media sheep into buying a few pots of marbles and bags of Kettle Chips, regain the investment, and then hope he can break even on any further sales before it eventually dies a death.

Apart from a couple of chonks in Holland, I have seen nothing proving to me, as a consumer, that these triple boosted and cured wonder balls from Munch Baits is any better than what I am using now.

It makes me laugh and die a little inside at the same time seeing the comments on Facebook by Total Carp readers who were ****ed from day one, because they were fed the lie in the rags that you need to recast every ten minutes with a different coloured pop up/topper/flavour of stick mix to get a bite. It was Korda's MO for over a decade, and Ali is continuing it, made easier thanks to Insta and the gullible on it who will part with their money because the packaging and language is more attractive to them than the product itself. Sadly, they are also the majority now.

"These look really good Ali, I'll give these a go"

Why? Why give them a go? Was everything you used before that not good enough then? Or are you just that naïve that you believe that THIS bait is better than the one you was catching on before? Why change? Because you're a tackle companies wet dream who sell you strips of fake grass for your bivvy because they know you'll buy it. It's sad really. Hopefully they'll get bored in a few years and go back to the pub or shooting squirrels out of trees. Harsh maybe, but I couldn't care less.
