Seems like crazy money and the most popular fisheries are the ones with anglers rammed together with hardly any water to fish??? Makes no sense but wait, there's a 40 to go at! What's next, come and have your picture taken with a big carp in a tank, only £100 and you can lord it on Facebook.

Judging by local reaction on social media they won't be busy,I hope they aren't as they really are taking the piss.The bailiff posted on social media the other day,trying to justify the cost

Time will tell, but for 50 notes a night you need a cracking place, some serious stock and good facilities, all 3 not one or two. It's nearly double the average ‘good' day ticket price at £25-£30.

Unless it's a lake exclusive , there's no way I'd be being 50 quid for 24hrs, 25 is enough!
I love fishing,I have been doing this a long time..all my proper friends are angler's, the people I can relate to most..are all angler's..
There are four generations of angler in our family ..I am saying this ..no fishery ,or stock size, regardless of genelogical, or historic importance ,ie the venue itself is worth £50 to fish ..
It's complete and utter greed and incompetent, long term therm thinking ,it will in turn implode...no one will fish....
Not only this ,with coming ,potential loss of freedom to travel ,unhindered or monitored,or other means ...
Angling will become hard to access..

This is why I fish canals miles of stretches 14 miles between locks to be exact that are mostly not owned by anyone and potentially large fish as most people are too busy paying £50 to fish a pool with fish that get constantly caught and have silly names,I can go sessions between bites but the rewards for me are there if I plan it right and put time and effort in to it.
For me what if I blank at £50 a night it's a lot to catch **** all

£50 a night for a bang average day ticket fishery I'd want a happy ending thrown in even if it's the bailiff with one tooth an been maggot fishing all night.
Not that I fish day ticket venues but the pricing is becoming ludicrous, 20 nights for a grand on a day ticket water or 365 nights on a syndicate at £2.75 a night.

Problem is getting on a syndicate though, few and far between up north. And clubs are starting to have waiting lists. So some people have to go the day ticket route, they have no choice. I would guess a high percentage of anglers are day ticket anglers. Just hope this single case of pure greed is just a one off, and other fisheries don't follow suit.

I complained about the price of the club ticket going up by £60. I was told that if I didn't renew there is a ten year waiting list to get back in. I have been a member since 1984 so had to stump up the cash. Its still good value, but it shows the way things are moving.

I really don't understand why people think what lake owners charge needs justifying, or that the price can be a rip off. If you don't want to pay the asked for price (for anything that's an option) then don't buy it or go there, simple.

People with more money than sense will pay it though , money is king after all on these type of venues that's why they are day tickets , I personally think £30 is the limit to being a reasonable price , no way would I pay £50 for 24hrs on any venue
