I've still got original Solar stainless U rests and a tie wrap on my rod butt's, which serves 2 purposes:

A 'finger lock' when casting, and to stop the rod being pulled forward.

John Roberts butt grip couple of quid what more do you need 🙂

The ESP ones are great, just make sure you get the right size and they've never let me down and have been on my bank sticks for over 10 years. They do three sizes for full Cork, Abbreviated and shrink wrapped handles.

Another vote here for the Nash Butt locks. not cheap but very solid and don't mark the cork rod handles

Jag lockdowns however a little pricey
