What happens if your car breaks down on the way there, or have an accident and need hospital attention etc? That's why no unnecessary journeys, it's not just no gatherings of people.
Right now fishing isn't important. It'll still be there when this is over.

People are ignoring the warnings, I live very near West Wittering and I'm convinced many have jumped on the self isolating as an excuse not to work.

In my job we have had to close the restaurant, bar and spa, although at the moment the hotel and golf course is still open. If the hotel gets closed, as it is likely to, there will still need to be a skeleton staff day and night to keep maintenance and security. So from 100 odd staff, there will be 10-12 who have to stay on, the rest will be put on furlough.
I feel for the owners having to work out who!
I know Anglian Water have shut all their fisheries and country parks, which puts my self isolation on my holiday up the creek as I had planned on fishing. It also increases my risk if I have to stay at home as I would then need to mix with people when I need to top up my gas and electric cards at the local shops, compared to using no energy while fishing.
One thing though, the government has said that to go into second home on the coast is non essential travel, so may stop a few pulling a fast one.
I took my dog for her morning walk yesterday morning, Sunday, there were more people walking around the parks, in groups, than normal. There were more cars on the road coming into and out of Ipswich than usual for a Sunday.
Social distancing is not being adhered to.

The only people responsible for the spread of this Chinese disease are the Chinese government who knew about the problem months before finally admitting it.

The advice is to only travel for essential journeys - although we all love fishing that is most certainly not essential travel. And how about if you get ill while you're on the bank? If paramdeic assistance is needed there's agood chance that'll be the helicopter being called out. All because you thought the blanket advice doesn't apply to you.
Doing anything but essential travel is irresponsible to put it mildly. Don't think it'll happen to you? I sincerely hope it doesn't. You may well get the full blown virus and be OK but what about those you pass it onto... They may not be so lucky.

Not quite sure how any travel that involves leaving your house, getting your car and driving it is irresponsible?
My take on it is that if I go from my house, to my van, to the unfished quarry that no one ever goes to, barrow to it and fish, then back in my van, and back in house, who is at risk?? It's not essential but if it harms no one then what is the issue with it?

That's just you though. My news feed on facey is full of people going to places like linear or farlows or one of the many other busy open access lakes.
Not being flippant here but you cannot predict the future. You don't know who you'll bump into while out and about.
