As we have all decided that Carpworld's demise was inevitable let's look at the brighter side and see what people's favourite article was, serious or humorous.
Mine was ‘ The boys from Everest' ....god that made me laugh. A couple of guys trying to get past the noddy stage, only to find out later despite their best attempts they got their nickname due to their ‘noddy bivvies' - priceless because we can all see a bit of ourselves in it.

January 1995 was the the date of the first installment of The Syndicate in Carpworld. I began writing the sequel, The Syndicate (R.I.P.) Part II, around 1998 with the intention of setting up a website as a platform to sell both books and any future novels I might write. It was a step into the unknown at the time, and a financial risk, to get involved in this, for me, relatively new 'Internet' thing and to become a publisher. Fortunately, it went better than my wildest expectations as the series increased its popularity throughout the 2000s. Eventually, as someone has pointed out, I released the entire set on Kindle around 2014, then Google Play and last year onto Apple Books. For those of you still keen to hold a printed version they can be obtained from www.carpbooks.co.uk.. Nice to hear how some of you couldn't wait to read the next chapter on the original Carpworld serialisation

Its that series that sticks in my mind from Carpworld of the 90s. The first instalment, left me wondering if it was real or fiction! Couldn't wait for part two. I didn't read the following books until years later, when I purchased them on kindle. All very enjoyable.

Like many I bought the first ed right through until it became 50%adds. Too much good stuff to list but Tim 's articles were always good especially all the overseas stuff. Keith Moore on creating his fishery as I had never seen anyone write on what was involved.

The best series of all time.
If there was anything like that in the magazines nowadays, I would buy them!
Incidentally, with hindsight, isn't it a shame that the mag has gone out with a whisper, rather than a celebratory, final issue? I quite understand, business is business, but I'm guessing that a lot of us would have bought a final, special issue.

The first volume should be just Jim Gibbinson's articles.
He seems to have been a bit Marmite (a phrase that he would have hated!) but I loved his work.
Gravel Pit Carp is one of the best carp books that I have read and I feel is hugely underrated.
