Kaizen is the Japanese for Improvement and usually refers to continuous improvement in manufacturing... They got the name from this i have been told.
I've had a few casts with the top end distance version of the rods and it was a absolute tool for casting that's for sure felt ok, but obviously no chance it play a fish so cant see it the sacrifice in action is worth the ease of distance.
For me as soon as i saw fuji reel seats i was out (not that i needed any rods)- a top end rod should have better imo

The best thing I ever did was to try my hardest to buy things from companies that specialise in making whatever it was I was interested in buying. The old phrase "jack of old trades, master of none" is perfectly suited for a lot of these tackle companies. You can buy custom made fishing rods to your requirements for cheaper than these.

I agree,they will bring a new model out within 18 months that's got the latest carbon technology.Thats fine as its a business and have to make money,its just spares for these rods will no longer be available

Yes it generally the best way even my stove and cooking stuff

Im not the biggest fan of Korda one way or other but they did drag carp fishing out of the dark ages in terms of marketing/retailing. You only have to see how the likes of Nash/Fox etc have followed them in this respect. They were/are very much a right time and right place company when they started and have gone strength to strength.
I dont like their chavvy/shouty marketing strategy personally but fair play to them all on their success. Ive listened to a few of their podcasts when they have had the likes of Fairbrass, Spooner, Dovey, Damo as guests and they all come across pretty likeable to me.
Would i buy these Korda rods? .... Absolutely not!! ... , but not because of price ... but because im not that big enough fan of the brand. Plenty of people ARE big fans though and Im sure will happily part with the money needed to buy them. If ESP bring out some Alcolytes in carp rod form at top end money then I would definitely consider buying them ... regardless of the custom made rods options available from anyone else.

In one of the gigantica videos, Tom stokes snapped one of these rods on the cast, I'm surprised they included it in the episode to be fair, and I've seen frank warwick years ago blow up a few free spirits during testing so I know it can happen and I'm not knocking Korda as I do have some of there end tackle in my tackle box, but as for hardware I wouldn't buy one of them tank aerial rods let alone a full set, with the test curves stated and the big ringing set and obviously the price, they just sound over gunned to me, I would love to compare one to one of my Kev baines snipers (£260 per rod when I bought mine) just to see how much more rod I would get from Korda for the extra money

I'm supposed at how low the fishing distances they quoted for each rod were. I'm sure he suggested the 12ft 4lb rod for fishing up to 130 yards? I get there is a difference between a bare lead and a rig, and max distance and effective fishing range etc. But would you really want a pokey 4lb test curve for fishing 130?
Maybe I've missed it, but why haven't we seen Terry or even Darrell put a rig 200 with one of these yet?

When it came to getting Korda leads in Tackle shops, Danny Fairbrass got off his backside and did it himself, visiting goodness knows how many shops in the south of the country.
I know it was the reason the shop I was working in took on Korda leads and the first products, seeing things first hand and a decent work ethic.
However the advertorial and Ali Hamidi marketing put me off.
Still, it's a rare tackle shop that now doesn't have Korda leads, lead clips etc, although there are a few.
It is difficult coming into a market with a new product on a 'flooded' range, some brands manage it successfully, others struggle. Look at Solar bedchairs and bivvies, successful, with mixed price points. Economy, budget and top range.
I have a feeling Kaizen rods may get the Korda followers but struggle after, there are many top range price point rods from various other brands; Daiwa, Century, Harrison, Fox, Greys, ESP and others with a more solid rod heritage.
