As I'm signed off work till the new year I'm going to watch some stuff, I've watched most of not all the Korda stuff, started watching a sticky vlog last night and lasted about 15mins before the bloke got on my tits. Watched a couple of weekenders which were decent, nice seeing Steve back after following him in the olden days of advanced carp fishing mag.
What else can I watch? I don't want endless instructional stuff as it bores me.

I agree Andy.
I don't have the luxury of being able to fish whenever I want. I go when I can. And while obviously I'll be taking conditions into account on any given session I'll not be looking so closely as to write my chances off before I've even started. Temps and DO might well be subpar but I'm ****ing going fishing either way lol.

100% agree with this - I don't have the option of choosing when to go, like a lot of people. Don't kill your enthusiasm before you have even started!

There are many vids available on YT that will help you become a better angler, by understanding water better. Take for instance large gravel pits. Those unfamiliar with this environment will often break the large water up and treat it as a series of smaller lakes. This, in my view, is a mistake and a missed opportunity. Large waters are best seen and understood as a single body, with bays and islands as well as large expanses. The movement of water in that environment is fascinating and an understanding of the places where habitats are favourable and hostile to fish would seem to be a requisite.
Beware of people who argue against their own propositions and pity those who clap them on.

What an absolute load of arrogant tosh. People go angling for all sorts of reasons and it changes over time for many people.
People who just enjoy being there are the long term heart and soul of angling.
If I have some time to go fishing I go fishing on that day or days in that place. If I measure dissolved oxygen levels ( which will change through the day), pH and temperature(also changes through the day) how much will it help my enjoyment of fishing.
Please clearly explain in detail how it might improve my catch rate on the day.

I've gotta say I disagree with you on this point. The biggest lake I fish is definitely viewed as a series of smaller waters by the most successful guys on there. Through years of experience they have a good idea which areas the fish will prefer at what times of the year and In what conditions. They target those smaller areas and use their time up looking and watching these areas and disregard other bays etc. For a water with a reputation as a bit of a head banger/soul destroyer, they do very well.

We all do things different. thank god, but I do remember being on my first big lake after carp and going home each sunday thinking wtf is going on , could not compete etc etc , and a bloke I use to punish said break it down , then it all started making scence, my god fish location was crap back then , its ok now well sometimes, I don't compete now I just go somewhere else, enjoy it all

Just a few observations of the responses so far....
No I don't think it's all been done to death, I just enjoy watching a couple of blokes going fishing, which I think Korda have done well in many different ways.
Do I want to take a phd in water quality? No thanks!
I don't fancy a "walk around the water" video either, so I won't be looking out for that.
I wouldn't have thought that Ali would have been the one with all the marketing ideas either, i'm sure it's more of a team effort with a company like Korda.
We will have to see what the future brings, watch this space I suppose.

I noticed Nash didn't do as much you tube stuff this year. Perhaps they don't have too. It's all a cost.

It's December, so content in general as well as captures will subside. There's only so many vids and adverts you can do for over flavoured pop ups before it gets samey.
Podcasts SHOULD take advantage of this. As should companies who broadcast on YouTube. During the first lockdown people absolutely lapped up the story tellers. The Wraysbury diaries etc. were a breath of fresh air in a mask covered world.
Lots of story tellers please, because the winter fishing advice has been a recurring theme for over a decade. We know what we need to do, it's just down to us if we can be arsed. Many including myself change over to braid and traces and spend the time prepping for the spring, this is where the companies should be taking advantage of that extra time in the evenings with the rig box on your lap.
