This is also the guy that made it clear he thought the lockdown and days only fishing was to strip him of his fishing rights. Comes across extremely paranoid and “everyone and everything is about me and against me” type of person.
Most anglers use binos for fish spotting, not spying on others. Fish were in front of him so what are the odds that the other anglers were watching the fish? Was it the same anglers that moved or different ones that turned up? (apologies, I got 3 minutes in and had enough of him so turned it off)
Question, do you move on to fish when you're out? Or do you plot up and never think of moving even if the fish are evidently in another area? That's all this is, if Greg wants to have the lake to himself then he needs to buy one for himself, or fish quiet lakes. Can't expect to fish a busy water and not have people fishing near you.

To be fair. Look at how much bad/negative attitude and comments the guy deals with. Just being on a lake I can imagine how people would be talking about him. So many forum members slate him. So many negative comments of YouTube and social media. He comes across a bit of a geezer but doesn't seem like too bad a bloke. I've been in the same situation myself and even without the “fame” he has to deal with experienced similar things.
I Fished a bank that NEVER got fished from. Had a very decent haul on there. Kept it quiet for as long as possible. Much like him, photos taken away from swim behind coverage so no one could see. Bailiff was made aware to what was being caught but promised to keep it between us. Started getting questions and the binocular treatment........heard whispers of bitchy comments and wild accusations being made as we completely eclipsed what everyone else on the lake was catching out together between the 3 of us. The big one of the lake was the first fish caught . After 4 weeks was seeing multiple people over there and couldn't get in the swim that we built and bait for a month prior to fishing. Sat in the swim we built. Like I said nobody ever fished that bank. Left the syndicate for a year or so. Came back. Perfect......it's all overgrown again and nobody fished it anymore. Time for another go this year. Won't make the mistake of letting it be so visible from other swims and will set the bivvy up 20 yards away from the edge behind the trees. Bait at night.

I don't know Greg Ellis, never met him so wont pass judgement on him personally but I can't stand "precious" anglers like him who almost try and bully people who have just as much right to fish a venue as he does, they have paid the same money and can do what they like, (as he certainly appears to). He knew exactly what would happen if he caught from a supposedly unpopular area and if he hadn't caught he would have been moving in on the more popular areas and someone else in reverse.....swings and roundabouts.
It has gone on for years, anglers want to get into the hot swim, get on the successful bait, find out what rig someone is using or hookbait....it is human nature and it is not exclusive to Carp fishing either, matchmen are the same, Salmon anglers who pay fortunes up in Scotland want to get on the best run...etc, etc.

This is literally where I'm coming from in regards to your post.
Never been that keen on the guy, yet this latest video came across well and put him in a different light. Just from my own experience, just like yours, you start doing well and next thing it's all gone tits up even if you've kept it tight lipped. It might just be one of the bino brigade spying you up, or someone seeing you either land a fish or slip one back, next thing rigs coming raining in or knobs fishing next to you and can't use the excuse that they've seen um as they've not even showed for weeks.
Looking at things from another angle, more than likely, the reason why he acts the way he has done in the past is a reaction due to people acting like helmets and jumping on his buzz. Another aspect is they way in which he's acted rilles people up, he rocks up on your water and the circle of snideyness continues.
He was mincing around my water a season ago, one of the guys said hello and was reasonably friendly with him with Ellis being all weird and off hand and knob like.

Managed to watch it through now. He acknowledges it's likely to happen and he knew it would. He's not that annoyed about it. Just seems like he's trying to add drama to an otherwise simple story of him catching fish whilst deploying a tactic that is widely used in carp fishing.

If you askme he seems like someone who actively chased the limelight, and now he has it he wishes he hadn't.

Having watched it all I see is a carp angler on a very, very busy club water that holds one of the biggest kosher mirrors in the country that failed to keep a catch quiet and saw guys move into the area. I don't think there's anything unusual about that. On a tight-knit syndicate maybe it'd be frowned upon. On a club water with thousands of members it's a given imo.
Tbh I think he did well that they left the actual swim alone. That's decent etiquette. Let's face it, he can't hope to keep a whole bank to himself.
Looks like he learned his lesson. Keep it quiet = keep it going.
