Not sure if this is an ironic question but taking the risk it is not there is nothing unusual in that. Last September saw a guy put in 80 kilos in a 72 hour session.(£740)Spoke to him, saw the bags, got the tee-shirt. Big mag, still in print, well known angler, first visit to New syndicate Lake, first job, decided to get 40 kilos out.
Do a bit of arithmetic based on vids and articles. Start with 20 or 30 med spomb, top up with ten after every fish, get some more out next day same and so on.
Lots of bait.

If it's a well known angler they'll be well connected and paying between £250 and sweet fa for that volume of bait. Only the plebs pay top dollar

Sorry, the guy with 80 kilos was not a face, we were both fishing a day ticket lake. He was buying from the tackle shop on site.

That is a daft amount of bait.
Even particle delivered in a spomb, 80kg would amount to at least 16 buckets of bait.

Think about what you hear and read. People fishing 3 or even four rods, maybe 2 or 3 kilos per rod plus top ups after fish. Get more bait out each day if fish are being caught. Then more top ups. How many times have you watched and read that. This is happening all the time. Baiting up from boats, using bait boats. The amount of bait being used is enormous. All of this without mentioning prebaiting campaigns.

There is nothing wrong with big qty's of bait if you're catching/topping up after each kipper imo.
It's these guys that just pile it in regardless of whether there's any feeding fish in front of them that are the problem.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with using large quantities of bait. I was simply pointing out that HUGE quantities of bait are going into fisheries all over the country. From the responses on the thread the amounts surprised people.

Certainly as you say piling it in with no carp eating is a recipe for waste and rotting food.
I've seen three anglers bait the same small swim in one afternoon /evening, then move on when no takers. You probably couldn't see the lake bed where they were baiting.
I'm convinced that a lot of lakes see more bait than is good for the lake or fish though. Even if the carp eat it they can only process so much and the rest is waste / pollution / not good for the fish.
I know carp will eat 5 times as much but 80 kg of quality food will give 40 off 10 kg carp good growth for 10 days if the food lasted that long.
I feed my koi much less than that per kg of fish and they are heathy and still growing slowly.
