Grafting all week then zooming up to your chosen heavenly lake only to find it stitched up by the same muppets week in week out is just heartbreaking.
Hence why I only fish rivers and abroad now.

I've experienced that a few times over the years.
Different era now and there's far too many fame seekers stitching places up for me. Gone are the two or three night sessions, it's a week or two now. They camp on the water and watch everything what's going off, soon as somebody has a result there in there punishing it to death
Brings a whole new level to the word merit for me. Camping in a swim for two weeks at time aint cricket for me

Spot on, all they'd have to do is disappear on a Friday morning and there would be a happy balance. Anyway, don't suppose that's going to change until the companies pack the publicity bun fight in.

I live near the CWP and there are a number of lakes that have full timers on, these guys are homeless and don't always fish, they basically spend their time off there heads on drugs. I used to enjoy these lakes I don't bother anymore such a shame really.

Time limits on all waters is the only way in my opinion. 3 on 4 off........3 nights per week is more than enough for any man. Leave your swim to the next lucky fella and he will leave it for you! I have fished several waters with full timers on and although I firmly believe to live and let live, they ruined the waters for many other anglers. A man needs a real bed and the arms of a good woman 😂😂

Certainly agree and have experienced the same on a lot points Carpwill mentions.
Finding a river paradise somewhere, seems the only logical conclusion for avoiding any of this old silliness that appears to be happening on lakes nowadays.

Have to agree with all you said here.
I have witnessed this on small club waters and the result is nothing but bad feelings and animosity amongst the members.
Swims tied up for weeks at a time by the same few anglers.

Seems a common occurrence, my syndicate is the same. However, it ain't half good when you're catching and the "hot" swims aren't producing

If you think Dave Lane went home at weekends to allow the weekend chappies to catch or because of some unwritten rule, I'm afraid you are very mistaken
I think you'll find that's exactly what he did apart from when he was on Wraysbury but then that was a small number of anglers fishing 120 acres, hardly an issue
