The carping fraternity and powers at be, should be shouting at the top of their voices, to nip this in the bud, and publicly protest against the use of illegal substances within the sport.

Ive been shafted by muppets on waters where if you catch to much thay cry and make up shi$ just to pull you down to there level, now I know f all , but boys if u done f all wrong fish more catch shi$ loads and say f off

Brave of Sam & Pete( and Stephen), discussing this issue on their podcast, despite the fact that they knew it would rustle afew feathers, so to speak, but since this topic has been doing the rounds within carping circles, it HAD TO BE BROUGHT TO LIGHT, rather sooner than later.
Good job for doing that Unfortunately, the well intentioned expectations somehow took a wrong turn and ricocheted in another direction, serving someone elses personal agenda and source of reference, which unfortunately tainted the podcast,

It's crazy here today mate. I got off the plane yesterday and there was random people, crying everywhere. Some really famous singer from here died in a plane crash yesterday.
She was only 26. MarĂlia Mendonça her name was I'm sure in your game you know who she is. The equivalent of Adele dying suddenly for the English I suppose. Quite sad how badly people here have been affected by it. Literally a nation in mourning today.

What I find interesting, is that as far as I know, none of the big names have come out and condemned what's happening.
Also, the same applies to some of the sponsors, you'd have thought they wouldn't be happy with any negative publicity.
I mean look what's happening with regards Yorkshire Cricket. One whiff of racism and all their sponsors bailed (Pun Intended) and an Ex England captain gets booted off the BBC over it.

Exactly. Says it all really. Looking after eachother. Said from start it will just get brushed under carpet. Too much reputation and money involved.

I can't imagine Peter Drennan is very happy. He's been shafted once before when the Drennan Team England match fishing accounts didn't add up. Pulled the plug after something like 25 yrs of sponsorship for the team. Be interesting to see what he does.

100%. Everyone that's been at it knows that nobody can ever prove what's been going on, so they can flat out deny it and issue any legal threats they want to put anyone that's knows the score off speaking out.
Ian Russell makes it clear as day in that podcast he knows what's going on.

The biggest single edge an angler can have is time. The second is large amounts of quality bait. People tend to want to bait while they are fishing rather than in preparation to their visit, some days before. The average angler does not have the above or they see prebaiting as a waste. But look at G. Ellis. An ordinary angler by reputation but one who is not afraid to step outside of the box, and bait heavily. His results are generally above average because of it. You might look upon him and suggest he is cheating while he is not. You can do the same as him, but you do not. I think we are being quick to look for the biggest of smoking guns, but when in reality. there is nothing to see here, just competent anglers. I spent some time looking after fisheries. The same five percent of the anglers would catch ninety percent of the fish. They weren't using hormones or chemicals, they just understood fish and water really well.

to me,anyone that knows what's going on,and for whatever reason won't come out and say so then they are as guilty in all of this as the people doing it...too many people not wanting to lose their cushy number within the industry by rocking the boat and putting their head above the parapet.
