Harehills was not a very nice place in the 70s, nothing has really changed.
An overprotective response from social services it looks like lit the fuse, though there is no excuse I hope the culprits are all caught and dealt with properly.

The quickest, easiest way to shut down conversation, play the race card, it's pathetic.

Ahh,yes....the good old race card eh vossy ,the elephant in the room ,the killer of conversation...
Only this white ,working class ,middle aged ish...chap ,wasn't asked ,nor were the millions of others in this over regulated,over populated country..
We was never asked ,if we wanted to share,or nowadays be taken over by illegal strangers to our shores, wearing designer clothes, latest smart phones..,then taking precedent on housing lists ,leering and abusing our women ..
We were never asked for our cities to become no go zones ,for the REAL ,indigenous population of these hallowed islands ..
We were never asked ,to live our lives in fear,because of Teflon Tony and his acolytes,and their meddling ,and the Kalergi plan..
My gramps in WW2 ,in the engine rooms ,a stoker on HMS Victorius, I bet if he was around now he'd be thinking what a waste of time that was, all his mates dying in combat, suffering mental illness after it finished...
We were never asked,....they ,come to this beautiful country ,and take the urine out of us...

There are ****ty places everywhere scozza. But bollicks to those who blame it on race. It's down to no investment in those areas. In places like Leeds, Bradford, Liverpool- basically anywhere north of Watford- 14 years of tory bull and active underfunding.
Lazy racism to sit behind a keyboard and blame it on immigrants / skin colour. You know it, I know it, anyone with a brain knows it.

I think it goes back to cultures and society and sadly it don't fit with what once made this country tick but we can blame, jobs, opportunities and inclusion, and the latter is what it is all about

I don't think it comes down to race or colour, it's more simple than that.
There will always be those who want what others have and if they can get it for free by whatever means necessary they will. They will lie through their teeth to get a foot hold and once in will fleece the system for everything it has to offer.
Our 'system' is not set up for this 'as is' let alone for additional burden with uncontrolled migration, which is what we have.
We have to accept the inevitable, it will not change, it will get worse. Taxes have to go up to maintain any semblance of social service and as I said to 1 of my friends near 10 years ago the NHS cannot survive as it is.
Mal mentioned going to Hungary, its actually a sensible suggestion, any eastern European destination, or Asian. Your money will go a lot further than it will here. I looked into retirement homes in Thailand, 10k a year, bungalow, all inc, day trips out, health care Inc. The average 200k house here would get you 20 years all in.
The 1st thing the Labour energy minister did within a week, against his own ministers advice, scrapped the tories new drilling licences in the north sea. In his own words it will make us reliant on volatile worldwide markets for decades to come with no viable green alternative in place. He also admitted use of fossil fuels would barely change during this period.
Effectively, a labour government, the peoples party has just screwed the people every winter for years to come.
And so we enter another cycle of yo yo Britain, labour unleash the purse, the tories give us austerity, and in the matrix we live in we're made to think there's a choice

I believe race is a factor and a major one (dare I say it!!!)
These communities that I mention below are multi race and their cultures dominate the area, as I mentioned Polish shops with Polish orientated goods, the Asian community and their preferences so race is definitely a factor, they make their places and communities like their homeland and that's a fact so it is race related
Could say the same for us Brits in Spain with our British bars and the need for English breakfasts and pie and chips. and a good piss up, that's our culture. And then we wonder why we are getting squirted with water pistols lol. The Spanish don't like it, it's disruptive to their way of life.
