unless you specifically want retractable i would go for a standard 9ft rod

Agreed. I use mine for stalking / edge fishing not sure I'd want to use them further out like my 12ft rods.

I've noticed lately there's a lot of people don't like retractable rods I must say they are easy to store at home and car but there a bit of a faff setting them up and packing them up compared to two piece

Tips on both my 9 foot dwarfs snapped. Different types bought 4 years apart. Not user error and only rods I've ever had snap in 40 years.

I just joined a tree lined lake that needs small rods as they've chosen not to do any cutting back, etc. got 2 sonik xtractors, with matching reels and bags on Facebook market place for £100. There are bargains to be had!

I've really enjoyed using some Grey's 3 piece 9ft stalkers so much so looking to upgrade to something from century/Harrison but they seem to be quite rare in the s/h market and hold their value.
Anyways, Grey's have been lovely to use about £90 each and decent through action. Got myself one of the century/thinking anglers bags and a 2 piece sniper net all in for about 300 quid.
If your not in too much of a rush I'll be putting up the rods and net (quite floppy handle) in the next week or two, just need to get myself replacement rods first.

Daiwa powermesh is a lovey rod great price the only thing Nash do that's any good is the alarms there gear is cheaply made at a high price eg there polar hoody at £99 ridiculous
