That's a very in depth review Nick . I've never use any goo or that kid of liquid .
I do however use krill , and aminos that I consider natural.
I use and used CC Moore for years now and am happy with the products .

The South African guys usually bring a large selection of dips of various flavours and compositions.
Then fish actively, testing them one after another knowing full well that which one the fish prefer on that day will change from venue to venue, depending on season, temperature and other factors from day to day.
Very different style of fishing but seems to be effective.

I was gonna say what if the goo fairy visits you whilst you sleep, but it echoes sort of more sinister than I intended 🤣

Like a lot of things in life, there are far too many variables to prove conclusively whether it works or not... I find it strange that (and I know Korda are linked with Mainline) if the bait used is so good why does it need pimped in the first place?
As a very cynical Yorkshireman I tend to lump Goos together with multiple varieties of pop ups, fuel additives, new golf clubs, whiter than white washing powders, suede shoe spray.... Snake oil etc...
Use them if you feel they work for you, all is good..if not save your money and buy better bait maybe.

What is Goo ? A sticky or slimy substance, that comes in any consistancy or colour.
Why is Goo generally scorned by the majority ? Is it because of the face behind the product ? The inclusion of fluorescein or another ploy to siphon your hard-earned ?
The majority, if not all, have at one time or another, incorporated a liquid into their baiting approach, to "increase attraction" of our hookbaits. This so-called "Goo" can come in various guises, but the decided and expected outcome is always the same
Scoff one product but praise another is the norm ... each to their own.
Why shouldn´t Korda Goo work, if it contains :-
1- An investigative trigger
2- Stimulatory compound
The base or carrier is just that, whether for the visual aspect(colouring), either attracting the carp or the angler, or preferred viscosity. Remove the label, add some glycerol, dash of hydrolysate, afew drops of EO, liquid betaine, citric acid, and small amount of flavour(containing esters, phenols, lactones, ketones). Why shouldn´t that work, under optimal conditions ? If you the angler, believe that the intended outcome, be it ionization/ph shift or whatever, gives you confidence, then that´s all that matters.
The common angler is happy to bait a spot, with a spod mix incorporating various items, or use a pva bag with various pellets etc, then use a dedicated hookbait on the hair. Why use so many variables, if all you need is a bag of boilies, afew freebies from that bag, and a hookbait from that same bag ? Shouldn´t that suffice ? In this scenario, that boilie used has actually caught the carp, and nothing else. Using a bag/stick of various pellets surrounding your hookbait, isn´t a true reflection of what exactly attracted that carp into picking up your hookbait, as it´s impossible to pinpoint the initial and vital trigger that lead the carp to your hookbait, since there are so many variables in the close vicinity.
Soaking/washing out freebies is a common practice or "edge" that most anglers prefer, whether for appearance of being sat on the bottom for an extended period of time and softening up. What about initial levels of incorporated attraction, during the make up of that bait, being washed out during soaking, creating a somewhat slightly diminshed product losing attraction within a bucket, instead of direct application to the water medium, as intended ? Washing in liquids, in previously air-dried baits is a more viable option, imho.
Moral of the story ... "Nothing is true; everything is permitted"
The resulting consequence/conclusion is either positive or negative, for the right or wrong reason, despite or in spite of, as long as you the angler, chosoe which category that rocks your boat.

An objective, fact based post suggesting not everything is set in stone? And in the bait section? In a thread about Goo?
Pigs fly past my window.

Here's another:
You can never 100% put down bait as the reason you caught. only in very rare circumstances can you be almost certain it was the bait change that caught fish. You could change bait and catch instantly, but the fish could have not turned up until then or decided to feed until that point. Your recast may have landed better or not tangled. Time of day, conditions, location, etc. all come play in to when, where and how fish will feed. No day is EXACTLY the same to really compare to.
We can only use what we are confident in, initially that'll be on unfounded ideas. No matter who you ask, only you can see if it works for you, for how you fish and on the waters you fish.
Disclaimer: I dont want the bait thread nonsense to end so please ignore all the above

I don't think they're bothering with the hydros, and as for flavours containing all those compounds some do as you rightly say, others are compounded with far less.
Overall I just don't see goo as giving on viable food signals or being anything other than bait paint, which as I hinted below is a valid use. There are superior and cheaper products out there to stimulate feeding if we're being honest

Absolutely true, but i suppose the carping fraternity are one of the most gullible group of anglers, on the scene nowadays
The majority strive to be top dog on the lake, and are in constant search of "the edge", for the wrong reason, most of the time.
As long as the urge persists, then you´ll get your pants pulled down, trust me.
The bait industry adapts to that urge, and provides you the angler, with an alternative to vent or quench that thirst.
A quality bait is all you need, applied responsibly & in right location ,.. jobs a good ´un, and nature takes care of the rest.
A quality bait doesn´t need sugarcoating, or cost a fortune. The bait industry has to "follow the times" and keep evolving, ever slightly, to suit the needs of the angler, going through seasonal changes or urges. Be it ingredient or flavour of the month. Be honest now, which other genre of angling needs that many flavour variations available to the carper. Are they all necessary or just confidence boosters, at the end of the day, just like the Goo
The bait manufacturer has a business to run, and a market to satisfy, each individuals needs, be it a quality bait sold at reasonable price, or a little tub of "anti gravity bobby dazzlers", for 30-40quid
If that´s what the punter wants, then that´s what the bait industry should offer, and not judged for it. You the individual, decides whether you wanna get your pants pulled down or not. All good fun in the end, as long as your ol´dutch doesn´t see the receipt.

Long time, Ken & Sturla ... hope you guys are good & still getting out on the bank
Totally agree with you Mozzi
There are cheaper & and better options out there, but unfortunately, the double-edged sword of digital marketing, somehow renders common sense obsolete, when the hard-earned is burning a hole in one´s pocket
Cheaper options to the average angler, might be construed as a less effective/inferior product, if they haven´t done their research and don´t know exactly what they´re after.
Take the exact, same product ...eg yellow popups.
Tub 1 labelled "Company A - Pineapple Flavour" ... 8quid
Tub 2 labelled " Company B - Original Catchum Pineapple Fusion " ... 40quid
Explosive attractor package :-
- Pineapple Chunks, Pineapple Oil, Ester Pineapple, Scopex, Condensed Milk, Fructose powder, FruitStim, Minamino, Talin, Thaumatin, NHDC powder & liquid, DMPT, DMT, Protaste, Citric Acid, Butyric Acid, Betaine, PLUS a secret agent
How many would fork out the 40quid, without hesitation ?
