I'm normally the first to stick up for any "names" that get stick on the forum so I'll choose my words carefully.
Based on the content of that podcast, his personality is so far removed from his persona that it's genuinely funny. For a free spirited Buddhist he comes across as selfish, arrogant, and self centred, with a massive chip on his shoulder for the scene that he helped to create in exchange for money. Karma is a bitch I guess
It's like he's turned into the authority he grew up despising.

That's pretty much how I've felt about him for a long time, and the reason I haven't read, watched or listened to anything he's done for over a decade.
I could never understand why editors would print articles from him when he clearly derided the target audience. I remember a carp TV piece with Joe morgan where he basically spent 15 minutes moaning about people who read magazines

As he says himself hes a product of his past, he comes across as manic and on the edge, clearly his past and continued drug abuse has effected him.
Saying that he seems happy and content in his world but not a world Id aspire to be in.

Have to agree with post 14. Post 6 was pretty innocuous compared to many other posts over time on here. This smells just a little bit. I feel an explanation would be a good idea. From not a moderator

Yeh, he hates bait boats but just bought one for a grand,
hates retaining slings but admits using one,
hates the corporate fishing world but has made a living from it,
hates the idea of a baiting pole but his mate who is 'an exceptional angler' has had 4 50s using one !

The really funny bit is that in the actual pod cast he refers to himself as that nickname and gives the reason why.

Think he mentioned it himself. But he didnt mention much about his own fishing. Would of really liked to of heard about some of that. His time on the Cons club the Big S the golf club lake his adventures abroad how he came up with the stick method. How he went about rubbing people up the wrong way..Definitely room for another episode 
But then again he did say he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to do the podcast so maybe not

Just finished listening to it.... WOW... literally hates everything about carp fishing but loves it all. Hates bait boats - just bought one. Hates retention slings but uses them.... Hates corporate world but lives off it and has done his whole life. I'm 50/50 on it... certainly entertaining and he doesn't mince his words.... a 'f' in every sentence was a little much and dropping a C bomb... mmmm not the best... but then he's a spiritual one - at one with the world / earth
