I used to fish alongside a guy who would cast 170yds with chimera 3.5 t.c . He regularly caught at that range and he didn't even look like he was trying. That was a long time ago as well. Technique and practice are everything.

Same set up as Terry Edmunds, I've seen him do well over 200 so it's certainly possible
You obviously have good technique so keep practicing and you'll get there

Out of interest what is the diameter of the Arma Kord 50lb leader, cant see it stated on the Korda website or Tackle box etc?
What advantages does this have over standard 50lb braid?

Me too. Remember once hitting a 5 iron on the 18th around 180 yards to the flag. Was at Ingon manor where the clubshop is around 30 yards to the left of the pin. Anyway, I caught this 5 iron lovely only for it to go left and me and my mate held our heads in our hands and then the noise of falling roof tiles was embarrassing to say the least. The ball had landed 15 feet from the hole and I went on to miss the putt. The pro in the pro shop was great about it and asked if I was coming tomorrow as he'd put the mother in law up on there. There was a collection box for cancer research and I duly put in £20.
