I saw a fella on cyprinus website advertising for PMs, hed just done this as well. was asking for 90 quid a bivvy..... doub t it lasted long on there though did make me chuckle..

just had a look on alibaba and identical (saw Nash-esque sleep systems on there aswell). No doubt there is some extra costs involved for import plus quality control issues once received so not all may meet the grade so can see where the extra mark up comes from once profits are added and to cover overheads etc.
I still prefer the tempest style system as this looks a bit of a hassle in comparison although I know they have there own quality issues also apparently.

Just because they have lifted a photo from a website or promo material that looks identical, does not mean that will resemble what turns up off the boat in 10 weeks once they have your money. 
IMO you would have to be pretty naive to place an order of 50 units of anything based on a photo listed on Alibaba.

So far I have from cyprinus their version of the mk1 fast and light with an over wrap. No issues.
Their version of the M3 compact with over wrap. No issues.
I'm tempted to get one of the storms just out of curiosity, from what I can see it's essential a tempest brolly, but they've added rear vents and it comes with the infill and the groundsheet instead of needing to purchase them separately like a trakker.
As we've known for ages it's all the same Chinese sweat shop tat whether it's a known premium brand or not.
Anyone know what happened to Tackle Discounts? I used them for my cyprinus stuff but when looking on eBay they seem to have disappeared now and the only place to purchase seems to be the cyprinus website directly. I think they were in Swindon???

USD200.00 to USD220.00 based on different order quantity. Sample is available and we just charge sample cost, and customer is responsible for the shipping cost. Customer design, logo and package are supported.

I don't think you understand my point.
Of course most equipment comes from the same chinese factories.
My point was that Alibaba is notoriously rife with scammers posing as Chinese factory owners.
Lift a load of photos from Nash, Trakker etc. Put up a legit looking website shop, also list on Alibaba..

I see yes, and did. But that's what buyer protection is for! There are scammers everywhere, it's all about common sense. I even had one on here with the so called thumb as protection against it

So you pay out 50 x £165 . Plus your shipping, import taxes etc probably going to be near enough £10k.
You wait your 10 weeks, plus god knows how long in customs then you take your delivery. The package arrives and it's 50 brollies that kind of look the same as an Aqua/Trakker/Nash one you saw in the photo, but they are not exactly the same and not what you or the 50 people you ordered for want.
Report to Alibaba, they go to the seller and the seller says you have the correct item. What next?
You would have to prove that each of the 50 items is defective and the seller would have to concede. This is would be best possible outcome and they agree a return.
Who pays for the return shipping and insurance back to china? Who covers your import duty costs?
Unless you are experienced with international trade and shipping on a commercial level it is my opinion that you would be naive to take it on and think it was going to be as easy as a brand new Aqua bivvy turning up on your doorstep for 25% of the price.
But would love someone to take a punt and prove me wrong for sure..

Something like this, is more hassle than it's worth. Any cash saving would be quickly eradicated by the time involvement and associated import costs. That coupled with the risk of initial payment doesn't make it a viable option in my opinion.
I would also like to think that buying via a known brand, you could expect a certain level of customer service and aftercare support.

There's plenty of suppliers on places like ebay knocking out blatant alibaba purchases all over the place and doing OK out if it by the looks of it. Fair play to them

One thing to also consider is where you are on the supply chain, perhaps these are all cyprinus rejects or ones that are sub par and they are selling them off via a different channel... Wonder how much a sample order would cost with all the associated import fees etc?
