Hopefully you'll find a way to get the rods out matey,....
It is a bit galling when my furloughed neighbours are being paid 80% to paint their fence & sit in the garden drinking pimms & tucking into a BBQ! Doesn't help when my mates are texting me saying the lakes are fishing their nuts off either!
Not that I'm jealous or anything!

But at least you still have your job, many many more redundancies to come I fear so all those people having a nice jolly, how is there company going to sustain its employment levels?
I've worked the last 4 weeks of lockdown, I've not been furloughed and I'm working from home for myself in recruitment. The amount of available staff is frightening and I have chaps who were on 40k plus salaries applying to be kerbside recycling.
Mark my words, you wont regret missing a few months fishing with the **** storm thats coming to the employment market.
Let them sit and drink there Pimms, what they should be aware of is there are 50% less available jobs on the market currently.

Only on the carp forum can someones frustration of not being able to go fishing turn into the current financial and employment situation
I posted originally, because I was wondering if carp forum members were feeling the same frustrations, and didn't need a life lesson in country wide economics.
I feel for those who are currently struggling, and those that may also go on to struggle, I really do, I have family who could well end up in this scenario but that wasn't the purpose of the OP!

Bit confused as I was agreeing with you, yes I'd love to get back on the bank and it's frustrating, all I'm saying is having a roof over your head is more important.

I've been champing at the bit to go fishing, basically since the start of furlough. I didn't go the first week that lockdown was eased, my reservoir wasn't reopened (and still hasn't), and I figured it was going to be busy on all the local lakes.
I eventually got 24hours booked on Essex Carp Syndicates Day Lake, I did blank, but it was good to be out.
My worry is although I'm on 80% furlough wages, will I have a job to go back to? Will the hotel reopen totally and still have need of my position?
I may have not lost out by not spending money on petrol, so my 80% wages left me with around the same, but I did notice grocery shopping cost more in the past 8weeks, from £35 a week to as much as £52.

My shopping bills usualy are 100 to 150 and thats without beer at present as i have a source shipping it in from italy and cannot sell it to city resturants !!!
although a certain householder now is into making espresso and pornstar martinis
, maybe thats where the shopping budget is diverted to.

I have been working fully and getting ready now to look at some trips midweek, as said previously jobs may be in short supply going forward so happy to be able to have a choice to work or fish.

Yeah my shopping has gone through the roof too Martin. But with no eating/drinking out I'm still saving a fortune.
I've been working throughout this ordeal but I managed 2 sessions recently. One a lake exclusive which was brilliant. The other my normally very quiet club water which was an absolute circus. Is what it is innit.

I get a free meal at work every shift, so my weekly grocery shop is pretty low normally as I live on my own, just me and my dog.
Her food is cheap, £15 a month as I get it in large sacks.
I don't drink much either, so a 4 pack of cider lasts me a week.
I keep at least 2 bags of coffee in the cupboard and the Bialetti and cafetiere gets used a few times every day.
I have heard a rumour today, from a friend who works at Copdock Mill, but until it is confirmed I'm looking at my next trip being another Essex Carp Syndicate trip on the 8th June for 2 nights. Good thing is I have the booking there in place, and it is a place with numbers limited.
