Ea licences run from April 1st to end of march 2021.always been same unless u buy a weekly one.

It changed a year or 2 ago. It starts from when you buy it and lasts a year mate.

New annual fishing rod licence gives 12 months
The rod licence renewal date will become a thing of the past as annual licences can now run from the date you choose when buying it. That's instead of being fixed at April 1 to March 31 as has been the case. You will get a full 12 months' fishing now.

spot on, i'm reluctant to spend money on EA licences at the best of times, but i'm dammed if i'm going to give them my money when we cant even fish and the EA will probably use my money to build another otter holt or two

They don't spend rod license money on that... they release a comprehensive report annually showing what they spend it on. A majority is otter fencing funding. Stop spreading fake news.

12 months from when u bought it bud, tbh mine runs out on the 1st of may we won't be out fishing by then not a chance so I'll be renewing it once we are aloud out again but won't be for a few months yet

If you can't go fishing then it is common sense not to renew yet, and the system allows you to do it. By and large the EA spend our money sensibly even if we don't all agree on all points. Why do you resent paying for a rod license which costs about the same as 5kg of good bait. Somebody needs to keep an eye on our aquatic environment. Perfect it ain't, necessary it most certainly is.

I've just brought mine for the year even though we can't go fishing at the moment.At least I can forget about it now till next year.Stay safe guys.👍
