The buoyancy would be my issue.
Just drill the pop up and add cork to suit buoyancy ?

They have caught me more fish than any other pop-up. I have even watched carp single out a fragment of a SfH that I had banded to a size 10 hook and float fished over pellet in the margin. This was after watching them ignore bottom baits and pellets for an hour.

They work , to the point they were on all rods on most days . Just used the orange as it's a forgotten colour , but the whites are the one 😉. For a change used their pinapphell , lovely bait , confident in all of them .

Is "SFH" a specific flavour/blend or blend of hydros, that gives the bait it´s putrid odour ? What does it smell like ?

Smells like a two people in a mortuary having a fight with n-buytric acid. It's a very man made chemically smell.
About as subtle as a pan-galactic gargle blaster.

According to the other thread chemical flavours don't attract carp. Go figure.

It's basically a very very strong Crab smell from why I can make out.
Defo not subtle, but that's not what I'm after in a pop-up.

The matching booster liquid is seriously pungent stuff. Don't get it on your fingers or open it inside - it will linger for days. It smells very similar to the krebsdyr-flavour(crayfish/shellfish) that the danish bait firm Danish Delight put out in the late 90´s. I may be wrong, but to my mind there seems to be a some fruity blackcurrant´ishly notes in the scent from hell booster liquid.

Smells too synthetic to me.....

Never smelt these particular baits but don't knock synthetic smells some of the flavours that have been most successful in my own baits have a definite synthetic chemical smell.
If I could point to anything about the difference of some currently available flavours and their original versions it would be that they have lost their chemical edge

Perhaps the originals was suited to a fish preferences and the new versions are more suited to the preference of the angler

Or certain constituents are no longer included. Diacetyl for instance, most flavour producers make statements saying there products are free from it...they are now selling to the vaping industry and diacetyl is a no go for them.

Yes, I assume very few bother to make blends just for fishing, so that might well be so.

Some flavours still have Diacetyl in though. For example, Capella do a Version 1 with Diacetyl and a Version 2 that is Diacetyl free.

Interesting, do you know if they sell to any of the bait manufacturers, or indeed any kind of retail outlets
