That does not matter though because there is another 1000 more of these things swimming around in one of RHs stock ponds.Short lives,easily replaced no one cares unless having their picture took after catching one.Not for me but good in one respect as it keeps them anglers off waters I'm on

If people want to fish for them – fine, but it's not for me. I was chatting with a guy on the lake at dinner time who said he might have got a place on one of these types of waters, I replied “You could offer me a free ticket for life's fishing on all of them at once, and I'd still turn it down!”


I just can't see the point in fishing for a genetically breed strain that's sole attribute is to eat everything in sight, to grow as fast as possible to provide a protein source for the population.

goose, there is no ethics in breeding everyone is trying to get bigger younger fish its not just RH. its just his strain are growing the biggest and they happen to be ugly. if this was scaley mirrors growing that fast no one would say anything. i don't get your point on unnatural feeding at all. i might use 3 kg of boilies over 2 nights and so might 20 other people on a lake but that aint seen as overfeeding that's just fishing.

Another point maybe worth mentioning, perhaps size of fish equates in some peoples minds to angling prowess or skill even,the big is best mantra, there fore,because they have caught a big fish ,they perceive themselves to be a good angler.

That,in my view is not the case...

Would a big RH fish,be better then a Beechmere double,in my mind ,no.....

I can smell these people a mile away,I wouldn't want to associate or fish with anyone with that outlook..

Because for me....

They are not,and never will be an angler....

Absolutely spot on

i just think its a bit mad how people have to fish for a certain type of carp to be worthy of being called an angler. If someone wants to catch his carp great i couldn't care less. if you want to fish for huge 50lb RH fish then go and do that if you want to fish for old English 20s then great do that. it has no impact on anybody else's fishing at all. I think people see pictures and feel threatened that a noddy has banked 5 fifties from RH and feel the need to state they aint proper anglers. and his lakes are full of huge carp and i am sure they are but i really couldn't care less why does it matter. The beauty of carp fishing is we don't need to fish anywhere we don't like or agree with but i wouldn't go as far as not going fishing with someone or telling them the carp they are catching don't count.

You make a good point,... However have you heard of the saying..

It's not the size of the matter,but the manner of the capture,its an old saying,which still holds true today,at least for me..

To be fair,each to their own,yeah...however,big ,uber force fed genetically growth enhanced,synthol carp,lol...nah....no,no,no,..that's not n the spirit or ethos of carp angling,where you suffer the cause to reap your reward..

Today, some anglers... Want it,now now,now...when they wouldn't have served an apprenticeship first,in the actual art of fishing....

Today they are instants,that's a given...its all done for you,just add water....

i suppose you could have a really basic understanding of carp fishing and go there and be in with a chance of a huge carp. But ultimately your kind of only cheating yourself having skipped learning the basics and putting in the time learning your craft. have you ever seen the Weston park strain of fish he also produces?.

No I have never heard of that strain I will have a look on the net in the morning. Yea he has a strain that he puts into Weston park they are little stunners nothing like those other monstrosity's. but they don't grow anywhere near the size of the Israel's. but people don't want the smaller better looking ones they want the Freeks that will be 50lb so they can change stupid amounts for tickets. I live in the west mids so when big rig popped up every man and his Dog was on about RH. He don't struggle to fill the lakes up at 60 quid a night either I wouldn't mind being a pound behind him

£60 a night,....wow,that's a huge amount of money,listen to this I belong to a brilliant syndicate,fully otter fenced, with lovely history fish.....its only £55 a year...

Me thinks some people like walking round with their pants down with todger on show..

The demand is unfortunately out there, is it so different to what some want/get when fishing certain places abroad?
