I normally use 6 or 8 mm halibut, especially in the summer but recently tried a few of the larger (12 mm ish ) swim stim sweet pinging pellets for loose and hook bait. Coincidence perhaps but my best 4 hour session on the bottom for quite a while.

You can still get Skretting from the wholesaler.
Price of Coppens has dropped a little from last year too.

When the water temperature goes up then as said Trout & Halibut pellets which are extruded, this time of year then a compressed Trout pellet would be better IMO.

I'm confused. Are skrettings and halibut pellets the same thing?. I've seen places that do both

Skrettings are a pellet manufacturer. Halibut pellets are a type of pellet made by various manufacturers for the growth and feeding of halibut.
As in, pellet manufacturers make trout pellets for feeding trout, salmon pellets for feeding salmon, carp/koi and coarse pellets for carp and coarse fish

So everywhere that sells pellets labelled “skrettings pellets” are selling the exact same pellets? What are they made out of?
I always thought halibut pellets were made from halibut because I've never heard of anyone who owns a stock of halibut as I believe they're a sea fish?

Skrettings is just a brand. They make pellets to feed farmed fish. Anglers realised that they can use them to catch coarse fish, but for trout, salmon, halibut pellet etc this is not the primary use.
Trout pellet are used to feed farmed trout, halibut pellet to feed farmed halibut.
Carp pellet were made to feed carp.
