Do the people not make up the organisation or are you saying it is police policies that are racist?
They are in a completely different place to where they used to be, fact, hence the drive to have multicultural forces and inclusion to the point if you are of non white British origin or not a heterosexual there has never been a better time to apply to be in the force ( dare I say that!) It's called radical change and it's been ongoing for quite a while now so to say they are institutionally racist is wrong, and disrespectful to people who work there.
Let's talk stereotypical, there's a reason that ethnic groups have been scrutinised, it's called history, track record and experience and if people in these groups were not involved in knifes, drugs and crime in general they would not get scrutinised. People have unconscious bias based on experience, it's how they make judgment. Do you know that a police officers can suspect people iif they think people could be committing a crime, or even look dodgey, it's their job. If they are locking people up all the time for crimes with a certain skin colour does that make them racists or is it the people from these communities, cultures and lifestyle that is the problem,,how they choose to live, not really their skin colour is it. Think gangsta. Of course, it's purely racist!
The press and media have done a good job over the years publishing all of this race driven crime, they do it to sell papers, but you could say there is a pattern and the percentage of these ethnic groups is pretty small in the UK in reality. Scaremongering?
Here's a though for you, you never see much going off with Chinese people do you, why's that, they are predominantly under the radar and just get on with their lives?
As for Tommy Robinson, the man's a ****, all he is doing is banging a drum driving the scrawny white man with his staffs into a frenzy,

As for the grumpy person - for you (and for me) it's easy to dismiss it as that. With a young black man, unfortunately there will always be that question. Like I said, I really wish it wasn't the case. I always get pulled aside for the extra cuddle at security. It's probably my ridiculous good looks that they can't resist.
Scozza - we probably shouldn't get into 'history' really. Us white men don't come out of it looking great do we? I accept that gang culture is a huge problem - but it's more complex than just 'because they're black'. Have a listen to Akala talking about it. He's way more articulate than I am and someone who really knows the depth of that issue.

A typical one that really pisses coppers off, when arrested, is it because I'm black, no its because you have been a **** and knifed, assaulted somebody or beat a woman up etc. etc. People don't get involved in such situations for nothing and the biggest downside is denial or no sense of reality for their actions, key point being their actions. People, their communities and cultures pave their own ways in life and a lot of the times we look to place the blame elsewhere, and that is what is really out of order. They need to look at their selves a lot of the time

In some circumstances that may be the case but certainly not all (%). People as a whole get pulled if they are suspected of doing something or look like they could be up to no good. In these instances I would expect anybody to get pulled, it's their job

I know you and Mal won't agree and neither side will change the others minds.
So for me personally this thread has run it's course, it's started with Leeds, (which I haven't commented on) then Manchester and now Southport, tomorrow it will be someone else and so this thread could go on forever, or more likely like other argumentative threads it will be locked or removed.

They certainly do commit more crime ,and black on black assaults are not uncommon ,basically, they are best avoided as a group or whatever people call them..
No wonder white flight is at a premium levels ...people are afraid ,in their own country and cities..and that's not right is it..?

I've never said but my grandfather was black and my Nan was white.
He was raised in Hulme and she Hebburn.
They met in the 2nd world war, he worked as a cook on a ship,I can't recall what she did.
After the war they got married and moved down south and had a long happy life.
They both passed away over 20 years ago.
I can honestly say (i and my sister) spent a lot of time together with them on countless holidays with them as kids, I can't recall any racist incidents or stop & searches or any oypther indifference and they were around till my early 30s.
Perhaps social media is the issue today as what we see sometimes isn't the full picture and folk are easily led.
