I get the theory behind it, and it actually looks alright, but the practical uses of these sort of multi tools are useless in my opinion, and generally only get used if something is lost or broken mid session

That looks well made..
I have to say ,for fishing and general get you out of a corner tool,I'd really rate the Sidekick ,made by leatherman,it's used everytime i fish ,so many uses,from gentle swim pruning to testing knots..although I note the OMC version ,is geared towards fishing obviously..

Must admit I do have a Bahco Multi-tool in my box. I actually use it for the pliers quite frequently pike fishing, as my first choice hook removal kit.
Almost everything else is normally unused, although occasionally I do use the screwdriver 'blades'.
The can opener is a waste of time, not enough cut and slips off the can, and the saw blade is too short, and the corkscrew is slightly too short for my St. Emilion Grand Cru.
Oh yes, the file, I do use that, can't have a gentleman like me with a bad manicure...
I use my Swiss Army knife far more frequently.

theres definitely a place for a knockout carp fishing multitool and this looks closer than any of the other iterations mentioned.. as stated usability will be key. hard to build it durable enough i reckon as baiting needle gate latches have a habit of breaking ... nice idea tho
