What's ppls views on this as curious if I'm In the wrong...
Had a fish at 7.40 am, left it in the net, unhooked it and checked on it every 5mins to make sure it wasn't in distress and ok, leaving it 30 mins to de stress before doing pics.
Iv always thought this was a sensible thing to do. I'm not a photo whore as I do self takes and do them any time of night. Loads of top anglers I see do this. If it peak of day in boiling sun surrounded by weed then I'd understand or If it was spawned up (none of the above applies in this case)

Can't see nothing wrong in that.. have the carp police on your lake been making themselves busy, then..

Oh yes. Someone phoned up to the Baliff and said I'd had it in the net for 50 mins!! The funny thing is, Iv had some lovely fish at night and always done night shots to save putting the fish out waiting till morning!

Seems fine to be - some consideration was given to the fish to recover before pictures .

sounds like a green eyed monster without a back bone to come and speak to you directly.
I would be pointing out to the committee that whoever phoned didn't care that much about the fish otherwise they would have checked to see if all was ok

Is there anything in the rules regarding retaining/returning fish for any amount of time?
I'm not doubting you at all Vinnie. I suspect you would always do the right thing and I think you did here.

I would say a little too long for my liking personally.

I'm not sure what to say really, but given the fact fish are about to, will be, or have spawned and the hot weather recently, I'd make sure the fish was recovered and let it go asap, never mind a pic.
