I like the forbidden routes vids on Youtube but his latest ep is like a tackle advert. Fair play to him for getting sponsorship from Trakker but after 48 minutes of his new video, it felt like I had watched a Trakker ad. Anyone else think that?

I mean the video is on the Trakker channel, unfortunately though most of these YouTubers do end up product promotion channels rather than blogs, which is the entire point of the "sponsorship" these days. I like how Simon Crow does his little promotions then continues on with the rest video rather than constant Avid this Avid that.

Theres a lot of these guys courting sponsorship but there again if it sustains your channel or gives you a shoe up why not?
He was Nash sponsored before though.

Yeah it's harder to watch when you constantly have a trakker or sticky logo in every scene
Even the plates he was eating off were labelled up as tracker 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

This is the problem with so many youtubers now. They have unique content, gain a genuine fanbase, get snapped up by Nash and it all goes tits up for the viewership because it becomes restricted and people see it for what it is.
I hate to say it, but companies would have been better off just allowing people to do their own thing and support them rather than insist on covering them like a racing car driver. I enjoy Jim Lightfoots escapades in France. I ain't sure if he's supported by Nash, but he hides it well if he is.
I miss the John Timmerman original content. I miss Martin Bowlers original content. I miss Jack's original content. I miss Jacob's original content.
I understand they have products to sell, but we ain't daft, and Jacob Worth isn't Lando Norris.

Agree here, Jacob's early content was brilliant.
He's just a Nash advertisement now & it'll get even worse now he's opened a tackle shop and his stock is 90% Nash gear.
He needs to stay away from Henry Lennon too... was a video when they were snag fishing, Jacob out in the boat & had a run. Henry just stood laughing for minutes whilst the fish blatantly got snagged up. Other videos them both out in the boat ect with rods in the water. All completely avoidable issues by one of them staying on the rods.

I'm fortunate enough to know two very,very good anglers ,they'll out fish most so called 'top anglers ' ,great all rounders not just carp orientated ..
You won't see a mention in any social media about ,where,what and how big these recent capture was/is ... I respect that..and them ..
However ,one particular young man on youtube heralded as the next next Terry,I'm now not impressed with catches a very big common in an urban environment, bang its on youtube social media ,now he's supporting old skool values ,nah...he's just the same as the rest of them..
A real top angler,keeps his catches to himself ,especially if he can think for themselves unlike,the majority today .

As you say, if you want to preach old skool values then be old school. If you want to publicise everything crack on... but don't give it the old ‘I don't want to publicise but I have to' and don't be surprised if you're blocked from joining certain venues either

Once money is involved everything changes, I liked watching that Carl until his last video where he said if he found an idyllic spot he would publish it and let the world know and it would be tough on the people fishing there* (* words to that effect, I'd have to go back and watch it to quote it word for word) he lost me at that point and I won't watch him again - that's the wrong attitude for me, at it goes against the supposed image he has.
I haven't a clue who all these people are that you are talking about except maybe a reference to Terry may be in fact Mr Hearn and I've been a carper since the mid seventies.
So maybe all these tackle companies reach isn't as extensive as they think it is.

This is the fine line between hobby and work, most people can only dream of turning a hobby into fulltime employment. Those that do need to generate revenue, sponsorship & social media are just a few options.
Unless you have sufficient collateral to fish fulltime you going to need to tap into all the revenue streams you can.

Just watched the latest forbidden routes last night. The one where he fishes a secret public lake in France. And to be fair although a lot of Trakker product placement it was a good watch. This guy comes across as being a genuine enthusiastic Lad. i think i preferred him when he was Nash backed as the advertising was a lot more subtle . but good luck to him we all need to earn a crust.

There can be a problem where one of these guys catches the target fish, its on film, moves on and f*ks it up for the locals just so they have content for a film. I know i'd get on edge if one of these guys was on a lake of mine though I do follow and enjoy most of his content.
