What's your thoughts on this, daft rules or protecting their stock?

Three tiny overstocked garden ponds. What this has to do with proper carp fishing is beyond me. 45 carp in half an acre. Poor bloody fish.

Few ways of looking it I suppose.
If you were being hopeful, you would suggest the lake owner is concerned about the welfare of their fish and is doing everything he sees fit to make sure that they stay safe, whether all agree with it or not
Of course, there is the other option that either money or a lack of knowledge and customer trust has swayed them towards putting these rules in place without realizing it will put a lot of customers off with no benefit to the fish or fishery.
Looking at the rules, a sponsorship is clearly in place, all the rules seem to be well intentioned but I wouldn't be likely to fish there myself, I think an element of trust has to be in place between the people running the lake and the people fishing it.

Complete over the top over regulation ..!
It's like they want your money ,but really don't want you there..other places to go..maybe a body search before you fish and a check on your implanted chip..

Given it seems the custodians of the lakes are Pallatrax and you are only allowed to use their Bait, Hooks and Stonze they obviously believe these are the best rules for them, or business model.

It's the same owner of the tackle and lakes. I know he truly believes that their hooks are far safer for the fish and that the Stonz weights are far better for the environment than traditional leads. This has always been the Pallatrax business model so no surprise that it has transferred to the lakes. The bait rule is the main one I do not like. Any lake that puts that in clearly do so from a lack of trust perspective (I believe this is the case more than making money) and is the rule that tends to keep me away from venues more than any other. As said, if you don't like the rules, don't fish there and I am sure lake owners are fully aware that whatever rules they put in place will split the crowd

I struggle to see who the lake is targeted towards. I would guess novice anglers, as I doubt anyone with any experience would wish to fish using hooks and bait that they are not used too, but the rules make it quite expensive, which would surely put off novice anglers.

I fished a public park(lakeside county park)when living in Southampton and it's open to public so dog walkers galore etc but dogs were banked from being taken with you fishing

I think it's more daft that you have to use a minimum of 14 inches of tubing but also are allowed to use leadfree leaders. The two dont work together, or at least there is no need to thread a leadfree leader through tubing.
Funnily enough ,a lake owner I know well,was approached by Pallatrax ,this pool is a stonking awesome crucian water ..
Luckily ,it fell through,the sale..
Pallatrax need to be careful because those rules actually disservice angling in some ways ,it's almost on the vestiges of not trusting ,angling,it's ethos and any potential customers..
I like to try different places somewhere like this ,has put me off straight away..

I don't think they mean you have to put the leader through some tubing as that would be impossible. You can use either but if using tubing must use minimum of 14 inches. That's how i read it anyway

I'm not that far from these and a friend mentioned it, after I had a look I won't ever be fishing there not only is it well over stocked and stupid rules but the cost put me off!
From what I could see it's around £50 per 24hrs per angler, I looked at 2 days for 2 of us in April and was charging us £200 😮 I ain't paying that for the type of fishing or the stock
