I've just been looking at the JAG Black Excavator Sticks as I'd like another 15" one...
Couldn't believe the price increase from this time last year. I paid £46.99 for one last year and 2 x 10" versions for £38.99 each at the same time, they've gone up to £55.49 and £44.99 respectively, 15-18% increase.

I know £45 for a Bankstick is expensive, £55 is a bit too much for me!

While I agree that Jag stuff started out a bit silly price wise, I'd agree that these rises may be justified. Price of steel has gone stupid and hopefully they have given their guys a pay rise to help with inflation. That's not to mention utilities etc.
Nobody needs a £55 bank stick, if it's too dear don't buy.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't need it...
Thinking I might weigh the rest of my bankware in as scrap though!

They might have been made before the increase an engineering company would have a stock of steel who knows
a lot of people are taking advantage of the situation and people sticking up for companies doesn't help going by that increase mps pods should be £100 more

I'm sure a lot of companies (not just angling) price their stuff based on not how much it costs to make but how much they think they can get away with.
Sell fewer items with a massive profit per item, rather than sell more items and accept a lower profit per item.
You'll always get people who pay over the odds because they like buying expensive things, unlike me I prefer a bargain.

"Not really that expensive as you inly buy them once " - is that a joke? £50 for a steel rod to stick in the ground, that's crazy money. In the early '90's, I bought some cheap Gardner extending banksticks, still got 'em, still use 'em and they're still going strong.
I agree with others - that some companies are taking advantage of the current financial situation and increasing their prices disproportionally. Whereas some are absorbing price increases and not passing it on to customers. Bait manufacturers are a good example, not really seen much of a price hike, if anything. Guess there's a bit more competition in bait making than making luxury banksticks.

In the early 90s some were still manufacturing consumer goods to last a lifetime. Over the past five years I've gone through 4 'high strength, rock solid' Avid banksticks, 2 nash and 4 Fox ones

Ive just bought 4 jag 316 excavators and two staberlisers and i dont think i was ripped off even at £250. There a bit different to your banksticks from the 90's and a jag excavator 😀
I would imagine there electricity bill to run all those cnc machines has ran through the roof, mine has double and thats just for a house not a big engineering company with loads of industrial machines to run every day. If you think there two expensive then dont buy them.
