Hello
Share your experience of using ESP sweetcorn.
There are two types of plastic corn from ESP: with large grains and small ones.
I'm going to use corn on size 6 and 8 hooks but don't know how buoyant it is.
Please tell me which pack of grains should I take: large or small?

Perhaps someone also has experience with plastic lures from KORDA. I would be grateful if you share your experience

I'm not familiar with the ESP corn, I think I have some Korda pop up corn which I use in conjunction with one real piece of sweetcorn. This gives a nice wafter effect on a size 6 or 8 curve shank.

No one but Bobstains admits to using plastic corn or other plastic baits. Probably everyone is afraid that they will be cursed by opponents of plastic baits.

I've only ever used the ESP plastic corn as a topper and used both sizes depending on the size of my main hookbait. Never used them as a standalone hookbait and every lake I've been fishing for the last 2/3 years has banned the use of plastic baits, so no idea of the old baits I have are the same as the current offering.

I'm not keen on using plastic and was looking at making my own small hookbaits instead of using it. That's a little irrelevant now as I've just got some cornz to try as an alternative to plastic.

See how I get own

I've used Enterprise fake corn over Vitalin and fake corn as a visible topper on bottom baits and caught.
I did stop using it after a few incidents, seeing and retrieving a dead bird attached to a crack-off in a tree that had attempted to eat the corn and got hooked, retrieving other crack-offs with fake corn caught in snags and weed.

In fact I stopped using plastic baits altogether as I'm not keen on the environmental issues.

I'm sad enough to take all my plastic food packing and excess carrier bags to my local supermarket for recycling rather than bin it.

That's not sad mate, it's responsible. We do the same. I agree with you on the questionable environmental impact of using plastic baits and the risk these pose if a crack off occurs which is why I've not worried about them being banned on my lakes, and in hindsight I will probably not use them again as prefer to use a whittled down popup as a topper

get a bag for life rather than use carrier bags, saves having to take them back.

Ive had some good success on plastic baits although dont use them much, got some enterprise fake boilies and have worked well using as a single bait.

Something to do with the esters found in the plastic or summin is attractive to the carp.

I do have a bag for life and most of my shopping goes in it. Its the extra plastic packing for pasta, oats, sugar and the occasional carrier bag I get from the grocer's or butchers that go to the supermarket for recycling.

I think that it was Lee Jackson or Shaun Harrison who originally came up with the thought that fake corn was so attractive because they were made with a fish oil.

Just checked the rules on my lake and plastics and other fake baits are banned anyway.
The only plastics I have now are those that have been retrieved, and next time I clean my tackle box out will go in the recycling.

Personally, I think all plastic baits should be banned from everywhere, especially as a few companies make real food versions which look just like plastic corn. Can be used on their own or as a topper, jobs a good un.

Totally agree about plastic baits, etc, but some of the airball and other non-food bait mix pop ups last for ages too. Nut baits. Hardened hookbaits. Where does it end?

Have you seen the Mainline Quads? £15 for a tub in my local. A tiny little handful of tiny square pop ups
Are you sure?
