In my younger years June 21st was always a favourite night of the year for me .... Not for any other reason than I loved feeling i was out on the longest day. Does anyone else have a specific night of the year they like to be out fishing (excluding June 16th)

Tuesday nights, statistically the quietest day of the week

Any night if I'm out fishing but my absolute favorite ones are sat on the bank in France with decent weather like we have now watching the day fade into night after a long hot day having had a belly full of food and a beer or nice glass of red in hand, I like being sat up until early hours chewing the fat with mates listening to lumps sloshing out in the lake wondering if the alarms going to ring out that just about caps it off for me, whether I catch or not is actually irrelevant it's a holiday for me and in that moment I'm totally relaxed and switched off from everything else going on with the world.
Hopefully next week I will be in that zone.

You paint an idyllic picture there and something I am counting down to in August. Slight difference having the family there, but the sentiment of chilling in beautiful surroundings and beautiful weather with a drink and a chance of a chunk, heaven. UK angling, I always like to have a session around my birthday, mid March when many places and nature in general are just waking up. Magical time of the year for me

Im just happy to be out and about ,waiting for dimpsy ,that period tween night and day,dusk..when anticipation is flowing through your very being and soul,when the pipistrelle bats are swooping down for an early night feed on nature's banquet..
A bottle of rattlers cooling in the spill way,and the mini bbq is lit,the embers,going grey ..ready to accept a big farm shop bought steak up the lane..
You've had a bleep and you know it's not long before action may come,..
You are happy and relaxed and momentarily at peace with yourself and mankind..the sun dips behind the Tors,all is quiet save for a few small fish topping..
This is what you live for,existing to fish...long may it continue!!

Hard to point to a particular day to be honest, especially as a single dad of three teenagers and a bird who's not particularly in to angling. Just getting out for me is a result in itself. But the months of June-July are fantastic I think. I've never had particularly great success at this time of the year as I find most of the fish I tend to see are arse up basking in the sun, but the ambience of it all I think is amazing. Being out, the wildlife, long warm nights. Love it.
I've got a few days booked at the weekend at a nice lake and I'm hoping it rains to bring these temperatures down.

21st June for me, stay up late. Get up early.......cannot beat that feeling of looking at ya watch and its says 06.45 or something when you have been up for hours.
