I'm relatively new to carp fishing and I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out as I have completely confused myself. I have a 10ft rod for spodding but my actual rods are 11ft would I still wrap up the rods to the same amount of wraps ? And what distance should my marker sticks be?

Distance sticks are usually set at 12ft. As long as you use the same distance sticks then it doesn't matter which rods you use the number of wraps on the distance sticks will be the same distance regardless of which rods you use.

As Mark says, just set your distance sticks up at the start of the session (doesn't matter whether 10', 11' or 12'), and measure the number of wraps around your stick, you'll be fishing at the same clipped up distance. They're usually set at 12' because (1) it's the most common rod length and (2) because it equals 4 yards exactly so it's easy to work out how far out you're fishing (eg 10 wraps is 40 yards).
Don't forget to have your rods clipped up the same as your spod rod + the water depth because the clipped up line will make your lead and hookbait swing down in an arc and land on the lake bed underneath where your spod has been landing (in theory!!)

People always say this but if you are feeling the lead down then the swingback will be negligible. Especially at distance. In very deep water at very short range then maybe. Normal circumstances it's negligible.

Can always tie up a piece of paracord @ 12ft to keep the distance the same by putting your sticks through the tied loops, like below said working in 4 yards is alot easier for distance.
The old avid distance sticks have a piece of cord already attached for this reason

It doesn't matter what distance you set your sticks at as long as it's the same every time. If your spod rod is 1ft shorter just add an extra foot when you wrap it up.

120 ft from the tip of a 6ft rod is different to 120 ft from the tip of a 15 ft rod. You'd be out by 9 ft.
Edit: I think that's right anyway. I'm losing my mind thinking about it tbh.
