While searching for some clothes to fish in tomorrow. I came across a pair of there zip of trousers. Got me thinking whatever happened to them? They seemed to be quite big in the game at one point. I even had a set of there Outcast rods which were highly rated at the time. Cracking rods for the money..

Pure fishing bought the greys/chub brand, didn't make much sense to have jrc and chub competing so chub fell by the wayside

How very odd, i had this exact thought yesterday.

Thought Chub made some reasonable priced good/decent stuff myself.

I had a set of the first outcasts, thought they were great for the £, now used for winter piking.

Best mate still has their brolly and going strong and I still have my 3 outcast rods, in need of an upgrade but have done me well over the years

Still have a few pieces of kit
Mainly luggage and still have an S plus 1 man bivvy and cover
The total protection rod hold-all with the waterproof cover is the daddy

Decent affordable stuff.

I personally thought that the top 3 tackle companies could have learnt from Chub. Their tackle may have been cheaper but the quality certainly was not cheap especially the shelters and rods. You didn't see many if any complaints on here and I think it goes to show like all products not just fishing, people buy based on brand name which dosn't mean better and the top companies know this.

I still have a buy tackle from Chub, it was a top brand looking at price / quality.
Still want a chub vizor lite, such a shame they left Chub and focus on Jrc

The best bivvys I have owned. Also got their cradle after recommendations on here and that is still going strong however many years down the line. Would like to think the Chub quality would be reflected in the JRC products now but I don't own any of them to know if that is the case

Still got and use the outkast 50s.
Great rods, had loads of stuff from there over the years. No complaints at all.

JRC have always made good gear at good prices,two lads I fish with had their bivvies for years.I can't remember the model but it had mesh vents in the roof and you used a wrap with it,they loved them and they lasted really well

Ironically I've just come back from a walk around my local club lake where there is a match on and one of the kids had that exact bivvy and I commented on how good it looked. Ideal in this glorious sunshine, was like having a sunroof and looked very sturdy

Was a good design and they were very sturdy,they fished in some right storms and the bivvies never let them down
