Seen some of the prices old Hutchinson flavours etc are selling for what is so good about these old flavours where they made on a base that's not available now .basically what is the difference between old a new ??

I'm in a very fortunate position to be able to directly compare old and new flavours. I can't tell you how I got them, but I actually have rod hutchinsons own personal flavours. I don't mean old stuff he sold, I mean his own stuff from his house.
Ive also got fresh flavours from catch it labs, cc Moore's, mainline, BAF to name a few.
To be honest with you, the hutchy stuff seems perfectly fine. I've used it in a couple of my baits, but definitely in the case of the nouvelle fizz, the fresh catch it is better than the old hutchy. IMHO.
So to be honest my conclusion is this fad for old flavours is horse ****.

I agree, I still own a few old nash ones, some very early mainline ones and a few richworth ones. I'm also purchasing new and direct from nash (long story but I have contacts 😂
and to be fair the new flavours smell better, taste better and Catch more fish. I do have an old richworth aniseed that is still quite potent but the bottle was hardly ever opened.
The new nash sting I have is exactly the same as from the 90s and it's mega. Save your money, do some research and buy fresh.
As a footnote I have never found one company who makes good versions of all types of flavours and I always need to trade with several flavour houses or companies

I totally agree. I was talking to a well-known custom hook bait manufacturer recently and he was indicating that the Nash palatants, now discontinued, were becoming seriously sought after, especially the strawberry one! He also told me that the Limited addition Hutchinson range, which came out in recent years was in many case at least as good as the originals.

From speaking to Paul at Catchit Labs it appears that they are all the same except the peach one which is on a pg base instead of oil.

Are you sure? I didn't think catchit Labs existed when the original supersense palatents were released, certainly Nash advertised them as being of American origin.
I suspect Nash moved over to catchit later and the products may have been good copies but exactly the same as the original, probably not.

I think it was Paul or his brother that used to work for Nash as a flavourist.

I remember reading that Catchit was setup by an ex-Nash employee and he took some of the recipes with him (that might well have been his to take). I don't use any Catchit products at the moment but I have in the past and they worked well for me, better than some of the 'big' names products.

It's amazing how additives/flavours/bait somehow improve and become the best thing since sliced bread the minute they are discontinued, some of which were largely neglected when they were readily available.
