I was planning on going to this but surely they will have to cancel due to coronavirus, thousands of anglers shoulder to shoulder. Surprised nothing has been announced.

I had this very conversation yesterday. My mate made a great point which is this, if the show organisers cancelled off of their own back, then they'd most likely have to refund all the exhibitors and pre paid tickets from their own pocket. However if the government bans large gatherings as they have in Italy and I think they are about to in France, then the big one could most likely trigger a clause in their insurance and get all that refunded. But not if they make the decision themselves.
So my guess is no government announcement and the show goes on. To be fair at the minute in the UK there are only 450 known cases. In a population of 65 million you'd have to be pretty unlucky to bump into someone infected at this stage. Give it another two months and it will be a whole different story. With cases doubling every two days that's when it's gonna be everywhere.

I think like a lot of things at the moment, things are changing day by day with it looks like us moving to the delay phase yes I think cancellation is likely.

Im sure it will and I don't want it to happen but it just dawned on me this morning.

Thing is. If the businesses attend but no punters do then they lose. If they don't attend they lose. If they do attend and their staff pick up the virus then go back to work on Monday and give it to all the other employees who then go off sick they lose.
Difficult call. I think unless I knew I was going to make a lot of money as a business owner I might cut my losses and not bother going.

well the reality is the government WILL ban all events very soon

My son has just told me they have been sent home early because someone is coming into college this afternoon to show the teachers how to conduct lessons on FaceTime!!

McLaren have pulled out of the AUS GP after a positive test. I expect the GP to be cancelled.
Real Madrid squad sent home after positive test. La Liga suspended.

GP has not been cancelled - the authorities have just banned the spectators !!!
