With or without a barrow? And how far is the walk
I've got a tempest v2, it's quick but heavy and bulky for day sessions imo
I bought a korum supa lite aswell, weighs 1.5kgs +pegs, goes up and down quicker than the tempest and at 50 quid is pretty cheap. Shame its a bit ****

I used to have an angling intelligence brolly that was awesome for days and quick nights! Wish I still had it

For day sessions have a look at he fox easy shelter.
Dimensions: 230 x 130 cm x 115 cm, transport dimensions: diameter 70 cm x 9 cm, Weight: 3.9 kg approx.
Take it out of the bag and it pops up, you just have to put in 4 support and pegs. Set up in 2 minutes.

Gerry, sorry this is not about shelters... I saw your post about Barbel fishing the Thames early this morning on FB and that you will no longer do it as it's not safe where you live. I'm not replying on there as I had so many requests from others after helping that 73 year old man on that Barbel group... Send me a PM Gerry if you would still like to fish the Thames, I can tell you plenty of places to go that are incredibly safe, where you do not need to drive all the way to the Trent every time.
The Thames is throwing up some absolutely monstrous barbel, that 18lber I caught a couple of years ago, has been caught more than once since, at well over the Thames record (but not claimed). It will likely smash the British record soon. You mentioned about Sunbury, and I agree I would not fish around there in my 70's either... But where I caught that barb from is totally safe and you would have absolutely zero problems.
Send me a PM if you would like a few totally safe places that do a lot of massive Thames barbs.

I quite like the look of that, it looks a bit more stable than the super lite shelter, but like that shelter it looks tall and shallow, so any wind and the rain is coming straight in. In a short shower the other week when the wind was swirling about I ended up putting it flat over my gear and hiding under a tree.
I'm tempted to get rid of this and my v2 and get a low pro

Yeah have to agree. On the back of the wind it will be fine. Wouldn't use it head on at all. There day shelter Mk2 is a lot better in rain heavy rain

As good as the tempest is, I don't think you can beat the speed and ease of a brolly. Plus you can put it up and down without laying it on wet ground like pram hood shelters.
The spokes come in handy to store rigs that you forget about and subsequently pierce the material

That's it mate, I've never liked the spokes over my head, and with the rolling in the mud and occasional seizing of the joints my solace offered, the v2 seemed a good idea. But although I like the size and setup, there's enough I don't like about it to look about before I take a Stanley to the front

I've got the Lo Pro, but I don't think it's a perfect day shelter. It's great with a bed for overnighters, but if you want to sit under it on a chair then IMO you need to have stormpoles attached to keep it high enough and to prevent the sides from flapping. My choice for a day shelter would be a standard space saver frame oval with two stormpoles pemanently attached. Goes up and down in no time and no need for pegs unless yoü have a strong wind right in your face. Better view over the lake from a standard oval over the Lo Pro too.
