As per title, anyone got these alarms and what do you think of them. They look ultra waterproof, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and sound the nuts with their Delkim-esque warbling on fast bites! Don’t think I’d need all the extra functions offered by the higher cost Age Pro version tbh.
Also, where is the best place to buy them from? Having never bought from abroad before, would the cost you see on websites be the actual total cost, or would there be import duty added?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi

Can't go wrong with Carp Sounder !
I have the Age One model since this spring, to replace my previous (cheap) Sonik SKX
As you mentioned, basic functionnalities but very good conception
only 3 buttons without extra gadget = less prone to misfunction
100% waterproof
Great sound (very personnal)
Great battery lifetime (compare to Sonik SKX),didn't change batteries and still ok
Compact and seems robust was m'y first impression during the unboxing

About store location, I'm based in France so probably won't help, the store was https://www.carpeconcept.com/
Very serious, professional, great shipping and almost the only place where you can have good Kryston stuff in France !

I should be able to send you few pics of the Age One tomorrow if you are interested, let me know

Cheers mate, that would be great thanks 👍🏻. I don’t need the 80 seconds LEDs or the ability to change all the settings via the receiver etc, so think the Age One would do me fine!

Nice one mate, thanks. They look great. Love the way they warble like a Delkim on fast bites. Only thing I can’t fathom out is how they can be 100% waterproof when the jack socket on the back is open and exposed? Surely water will short out the + and - contacts on the jack socket if submerged? I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos where they leave an alarm fully submerged for 10+ minutes before retrieving from the water and using them without a problem! Or is there some sort of waterproof bung I can’t see in the pics or videos? In my opinion, this is one of the biggest flaws with the Fox Mini Micron X alarms.

I also quite like the look of these alarms as an extra set, but one thing that bothers me is that these alarms only warble with very fast runs. With slow runs they only produce single bleeps quickly after each ofter, which sounds strange.

Here you can see an example about what I mean: LINKY POO™ https://youtube.com/shorts/-0ovtAM8QSo

Send them an email and specifically ask them about the socket it might have internal seals or you simply seal with a rubber bung when not used.
In the FAQ it’s says IP67 rated which means protection against temporary immersion in water up to 1 metre deep for up to 30 minutes under test conditions but clearly they’ve done something different for the socket.

But like all things something IP67 does not guarantee waterproof for a lifetime you might also want to ask that it’s likely as long as the warranty.

Isn’t that the same with Delkims though, which gives you an idea of the speed of the bite? Expect on the highest sensitivity on a semi loose clutch they will warble like mad, whereas if sensitivity is turned down and you clutch is tighter, it will be more of a series of single bleeps?

It’s a bite, it’s beeping - maybe it’s on the 8cm setting.

This could be the case indeed. I can try that out when I get some.

they don't have any bungs etc. the sockets are epoxied into the case, can see that when you change the battery, so essentially sealed from external

the warble as you put it, depends on the sensitivity setting you have them on, i keep mine on the lowest. ive had 3 sets now and would happily buy 4th. one thing to note, threads are quite short, on solar bars with solar hockey sticks was only getting 1-2 turns of the threads, i had some made up on a lathe, trying to contact carpsounder is near impossible, tried multiple times to get longer threads and also a lanyard....

Might go via Pecheur when I eventually manage to raise enough money to buy them? Pretty sure I’ve read on the forum before that Pecheur are good to deal with and a trusted seller?

You mean pecheur.com ?

Well, actually I'm a bit mitigated about this seller
Not later that the other day (french expression doesn't translate well...),I bought a Trakker NXC rod luggage on this store, i received the one for retrectable rods instead of the one for regular 10ft rods
I double checked, the description was wrong, not a mistake on my end
And I already experienced similar wrong shipping with them, some random delay as well

So, best advice, I you want to go with pecheur.com, double check description and references, check if there is any mistake in description or duplicated items with same name and be ready to get some delay in shipping, eventually 😉

Currently sitting on a rather huge lake in France and in the teeth of a brisk North Easterly wind. The CS Age One alarms are superb. They haven't missed a beat and the lower sensitivity settings mean you don't get annoying false beeps in high winds and surf-like conditions. A welcome change from using Delkims... The roller is good and especially when using braid. My lad has been using them for over a couple of years in extreme fishing scenarios and they have been brilliant. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Do everything you need them to do, beep, warble and drop back tone if you like that sort of thing! BTW, the screws are long enough for me to house the solar titanium hockey sticky things with no issues.. I got my set of 4 from Pecheur over a year ago and got a good deal on them and they arrived promptly. Buy the alarms with confidence. 👍

It’s really easy now on the new forum if you’ve gone premium?
Halfway down my screenshot whilst typing this reply, the camera icon is on the right. Tap that and then follow the onscreen instructions to upload etc. if you’re not premium, I think it still has to be done through a hosting site like imgbb for example.
