So last month I done 3 days on a big park lake hadn't fished it for 30/35 years,since I was a teenager with mates for tench and bream let alone carp fish it,first night had a 23 out and then a tench and a bream.
So while it's still mild I'm out again right now just setting up 2 nights on the same lake excitement is understated as I think there's more to come from here,nicely hidden away from people walking round and not a single fisherman seen(only seen a few last month fishing).
I love the peace and quiet and the possibility of a surprise but it's great to be out for some quiet me time as I have had a bad year so far with losing my mom almost a year ago which is at times still hard to imagine she's not here with me and my brothers and Also my partner lost her mom 4 months after my mom passed,so yeah great to be out and fingers crossed.

Anyone else out while the wether is still ok
If you are hope your rewarded with a fish doesn't matter the size it's about being out there,oh and the original swim I was going to fish I had 3 lovely beautiful wild horses in there eating so left them to it.

I hope the weather's meant to be better there tomorrow, if not I hope you're not too close to any dodgy trees. I'm meant to be out tomorrow but looking at the forecast it's up to 40mph winds and raining heavily from 1 onwards, not a great incentive for a day only...and I was contemplating lure fishing...not now!...lol

Thanks mate I'm unfortunately under a load of trees it's a wooded area and I hear people go past but they can't see me I'm around no more than 30' away from the footpath loads of dog walkers around and there's 1 other person fishing now,bloody seagulls are a night mate so had to wait and keep baiting when they give up I'm fishing stringers as I left my pva bags at home(well forgot them) and a little paste around the lead and hook bait,last time I had the 23 on first night on a 12mm white along with the tench too but nothing on pink which was on other rod,the bream came to 2 tigers wrapped in paste so I think they are hungry,last time I spomed loads of particle out and some insect meal(soldier fly from pound stretcher and dna powdered insect meal)think that attracted the tench and bream,still if I catch it's a bonus just nice to be out and reflect on stuff,my mom was always happy when I caught and always positive when I didn't,when I caught one because she was blind I had to show her by moving her hands to show her how big the fish was.

Left rod has a 12mm white pop again on a Ronnie rig and helicopter style
And other has a 16mm bug and a 12 mm topper snowman style.

Weather was perfect for an autumn bite this morning down in Sussex. Mild with westerlys and low pressure. Took a couple of hours of watching them fizz with nothing forthcoming, so stuck half a white S2 on top of the Bug hookbait and it went within five minutes. Just in time for lunch!

I keep wondering if I should revisit past stomps, they say never go back. I've put my name down for a local club I was a member of for over 10 years, wondering if it's a good idea...hmm

Your topic title was like to me, it's a year to the day tomorrow since I last got out fishing...and because of you, I've booked a day session on Friday, so if I blank it's all your fault ....nothing to do with the hook baits being well over a year old...nope!

Got a 4 four day session arranged in November and I'll keep doing Sunday nights and a night midweek on my syndicate for the foreseeable future.

im.fishing a low stocked cheshire mere, hard is an understatement....I plan on doing winter on there, chances are its a blank until atleast march april when they tend to trip up...40 fish in 25.acres so not impossible but varying depths to 29ft and areas inaccessible makes thing a very difficult challenge

Want any company

I've accidentally stumbled across a water with a ton of history and a very old fish or two to target.

70ish fish in 8 acres but only half a dozen old ones left. 3ft deep with the odd 4ft hole.

6 weeks in I've been lucky to catch 3 but none of the old guard. Bailiffs reckon 8 in a season is good going and it doesn't fish well during the winter.

So I'll be there tomorrow and Saturday and will carry on throughout the winter in the hope I get one of the two oldest fish in their winter colours.

Place is absolutely stunning too 👌

Yes, plenty of rain down in Surrey but looking good for fri - sun. Packed a few extra layers as looking a bit chilly as well.

Indeed mate, I found two of the old ones last time I was there 'out of bounds' and spent at least an hour just watching them.

In gin clear water, I didn't need much more inspiration to keep going!!

Good luck on there Andy,the swim by the gate where you go through to the woods is a good one.They come into that bay by there and go along the tree line in the early hours,ive watched them quite a few times do it

The winds picked up here finally got rods out seagulls are a nightmare,but I had a few bleeps first thing around 7am but nothing else,just rained all night and I had a banging headache all morning

Not sure if work caught up with me as in getting up early every day that's what happens to me usually from tiredness,took 4 paracetamol to get rid of it over few hours

Turned up at the gate this morning to see a sign saying lake closed 😭.

Bumped into someone who said there has been an oxygen crash so likely to be closed for a few weeks at least

So after putting nearly 200 miles on the clock, I'm on a club water wondering if I should fish this for the winter or somehow find an alternative.

Gutted!

Glorious here in Surrey. Lake empty so bagged the hot double swim for me and my chum. Sat in short sleeves and shades.

Life's cool today.

Back home now in the warmth and blanked had a few liners but happy to have got out so I've had 3 fish (if you nicked a tench and a bream) in 2 sessions on a 16 acre lake with stock levels that is unknown to me .

@Fivenil it was nice & sunny here this morn, cold though. I got fed up by 1430 so packed up, as I got to the car the heavens opened.....for the next 2 hours...lucky escape Odd day, on the end of a cold wind, in 3 feet of water and getting liners...move the rig in closer...no liners...nothing!

@Canalcarper71, you've caught though while still learning the water, not a bad start Today I went into a swim I know like the back of my hand, a easy peg where the smaller fish hang out, I just wanted a bite... blanked that'll teach me!

I enjoyed it tbf for me it isn't all about catching I love being outside no matter what the weather is like,and I see a nice challenge coming next season which I will start planning now,there is a close season on pools in Birmingham area so I may look at doing the traditional open day night as I used to love doing this when I was a kid

Poured down between 3-4. Chilly today but lovely sun again. Alas, no fish.
