I know this is like asking how long is a piece of string, but here goes. I've just joined a syndicate that allows baitboats. Given that it has a lot of inaccessible undercut banks, my first thought was to get a Bushwhacker. Unfortunately there's none about at the moment, so it might have to be a Baitboat. I'm just looking to see if there's something reliable & not an absolutely crazy price. I don't really need all the bells & whistles, although a depth finder might be beneficial, just something that will get the bait into the places I can't cast to. Thanks in advance...

If you're on a budget boatman actor plus all day long, I've got mine paired with a deeper plus and have no complaints with the boat what so ever

Another vote for the Actor. I've got an Actor Plus, and whilst it's my 1st boat and I don't use it often to date I've got no negatives to say about it. Customer service is spot on as well

I bought my first boat a basic Actor Plus from my mate when he upgraded to the Vulcan Pro. Never really thought that I would buy a baitboat, but he offered it at a very good price and now I'm really glad that I bought it. Great boat and easy to control. There has been no issues with the boat and it has certainly made it possible for me to catch some fish that I wouldn't have caught without the boat. The Vulcan can be loaded from the top so that would be my choice if I had to buy a new boat.

Worth having a look at the ND/NDS boats - good bits of kit and you can purchase in a modular way, buying the boat, unlocking autopilot and then adding in sonar if you wish

Get a vulcan mk2 from boatman, they are superb for the money. Ive had the actor plus and now have the vulcan and the vulcan is a much better boat than the actor and also slightly cheaper than the actor plus.

I have the Vulcan mk1 and it's brilliant. No doubt the new mk2 is even better
Boatman well recommended. Bought a Deeper Quest now though because I need it for mapping fishing bigger gravel pits.

I have the future carp intrepid. No bells and whistles. Just a straight up bait boat. Decent size hopper. Compact/lightweight boat. Stable in all weather. Mega battery life (used it in France for a week on 1 charge!). Very decent lights on it for nightime use.
Top loading so no faffing with the hopper door. No complaints at all. Solid boat.

I'll be listing an Actor MK4i compass with 2 10ah batteries, deeper mount and carry bag in the classifieds this weekend. Bought for a session at Orchid last year, it was faultless and I didn't even change the battery on a 72hr session.
I really only Barbel fish these days though and haven't used it since. Batteries have been partially drained and recharged every couple of months to maintain condition. I've got a Deeper range extender as well that I only used for that session that could go with it.
