Hi all my trusty old Nash Dwarfs are starting to show there age now so i'm looking at replacements for them.I have a budget of about £150 per rod and my main wants are 3lb tc,40mm butt ring and possibly a cork handle.
I have seen the Wychwood - Extricator Plus rods for a good price which seem to tick all the boxes so that is one i have considered but it would mean i would have to buy a new rod holdall which would the money i have saved would be used on that.
Im open to suggestions and look forward to your replies

A new Dwarf set? not many rods will be better then the Dwarfs if you are after fish playings rods, especially not in the price range up to 150

Bristol Angling have most models of Scopes reduced. 10ft 2.75 and 10ft 3lb corks with 40mm butts all under £150

Strangely enough i messaged them today asking about there rods and it will cost me £200 a rod at least but i am tempted to spend the extra after seeing people recommend them on here

I have to admit i do love mine they are the first version that were released and never had a problem with them

Why not keep them? If they are starting to show their age I'd keep them.

Ah, I thought they were still doing a set of 3 for £475.
Another thought if you are budget conscious is the Ultimate Bionic Extender rods, I know I shouldn't as I have enough rods but, I bought a set of 3 in 3.5tc yesterday for a particular set of circumstances in France for under £150 for the 3 in the sale.

The Extricator Plus 10' are great rods. You won't go wrong with them if you decide to opt for a two piece non retractable rod.

Same as the post below; I would heartily recommend the wychwhoods. Lovely playing action. The set I bought retired my Ballistas.
Only gripe is the built in line clip is naff and gets in the way of putting your own one on.

I have actually looked at those because someone said they were exactly the same as another companies rod that were twice the price.

Yeah my late dad had a set of the 6fts and absolutely loved them
I can get a pair of the wychwoods with cork handles for just under £180

They are exactly the same as the Cotswold Pace rods. He charges more than double the price.

I bought them due to price for an area that can be dodgy with the locals in France and
would rather they were taken than my expensive rods, not that I want anything taken but, you get my drift and at £48 each it doesn't break the bank.

That's why I say if there's nothing wrong with the ones he's got, apart from 'showing their age' keep them. Otherwise it's an ongoing case of replacing rods every few years.
Having said that I'll buy the old ones for a fiver each

There was a lot of glowing reviews for the sonik insurgents. I picked up a pair of extractor pro's in 9ft 2.75lb with 40mm rings from TFT for £49.99 a pop. From my understanding they're near identical, but the carbon comes from a different manufacturer.
I think most would be over the moon with what I received for the price, but out of the retractables that I've tried the insurgents would still reign supreme.
Sadly, I prefer my rods to have a softer action, so while they might be excellent rods, I'm not sure how much use they'll get. For me personally, the king of 10ft rods are still the old TFG compacts. No dwarf, scope, extractor, or insurgent has come close to beating how they bend
