I would like (need) some alarms that trigger a bivvy light when I get a take - I've always done the usual stuff like keep my head torch handy etc but as I'm getting older need all the help I can get.
So far all I seem to be able to find are offerings from Sonik and Prologic - any recommendations from these makers, are there any others?

Sonik Gizmo or their new Herox alarms seem to be good price and have the bivvy light feature couple of people on the club lake I'm on are happy with them from speaking to them

Hasn't Fox brought out an alarm with an integral bivvy light? Swear I seen it somewhere.

I got a set of Prologic K3 alarms, they have a built in bivvy light on the bottom of the receiver. The only criticism I have is that they are not that loud (the alarms & receiver), even on the loudest setting. So I wouldn't recommend them to (a) heavy sleepers or (b) for locations with a lot of background noise.

I mostly use my JRC Radars, also got Fox MMXR+

Fox rx+ is the only one that lights the bivvy lamp after 3 beeps
Have a look @ Smart-indicators, they have bivvy light/alarms that work for about 6 brands

I've got one but don't use it. Why do you want you're njght vision destroyed immediately , before you're going out into the dark, to fight a carp. Better to use a red light head torch. There are few times when a white is necessary

ND alarms trigger the ND bivvy lamp. It works well for me. Also links with their head torch and wristband.

It's a forced lifestyle choice! (Partial implanted hearing aid)Personally would love a light triggered by an alarm..It would mean being able to fish at night again.Relying on the vibration from the receiver has been getting hit n miss lately.Totally get the vision thing tho.It would be the lesser of two evils.

I have Sonik Gizmo 2 and SKS 2 alarms.
The bivvy lights are excellent, when adjusted so not too bright and angled correctly they don't spoil your night vision, but light up your crocs and even rods if you have your bivvy close to rods.
Can't fault the alarms, have used them in some very rough weather, for the money I think' they are great and the bivvy light is a feature I would not want to be without.

Anybody used the smart indicator torch linking to Nash alarms? Just looked at the website and they are relatively cheap - just wondering how reliable they are?

Sonik SKS2's, fantastic alarms for the price. Battery life I thought was going to be an issue, having read that some of the earlier Sonik alarms ate them, but I'm still on all the original batteries I put in when I bought them in April. Even if they died next trip, I wouldn't have an issue with a 6 month battery life. I've used the night lights function on the alarm heads quite a bit in that time and also use the bivvy light for general lighting, not just as a visual indicator of bites. Also, if you're not already aware, the bivvy light has a speaker in it and doubles up as a receiver. £150 for 3 alarms, receiver and bivvy light, I think they're brilliant!

Why would you want your bivvy lit up when your buzzers sounds?
I don't know about others but if my buzzer sounds, I want to look out of my bivvy and see what my buzzer lights and bobbins are doing, a bivvy light could mask that.
If I'm satisfied that it's not worth getting up for I want to get back to sleep ASAP without a bivvy light on.
If I get a full blooded run, my slip on shoes will be at the bivvy entrance door, I'd be up like a shot, shoes on and I'd be by my rods in seconds.
I can honestly say I don't need a light to slip on some shoes that are strategically placed by the bivvy door.

The light I have as in the link below also doubles up as a torc
You can set the brightness and mutation of how long the light stays on when your alarm sounds.
The main reason for me is that it lights up the area where my crocs/trainers are so I can slip them on when I get a take

Not that I have one, but I can see the benefits and I do wonder if you placed your the under your bedchair facing the front of your bivvy, it would have the ability to light up shoes and the door if zipped down, but hopefully without ruining night sight and ability to see the rods in the dark.

If you have only 10% of a normal person's hearing ability, a light coming on would be a great help.Definately on my list of 'go get one'...

The Prologic SMX have an LED light built in to receiver, if that would be enough? I think TFT have them on sale at the moment too.

I have watched a few videos now of both Prologic and Sonik alarms and it appears that the Sonik bivvy light kind of strobes (in tune with the beeps) when the alarms sound and best I can tell the Prologic alarms don't seem to do this.
Can anybody confirm if this is indeed the case please.

The prologic light just comes on after 3 or so beeps (ie. It only comes on if you actually get a run) no strobing, just a solid white LED.

I have the Sonik, I have them set quite sensitive and they do not appear to strobe.
But I guess if they were set less sensitive they might,
If I get the chance I'll try it and see if they do.
Excellent alarms though especially at the price they are.
