Do these allow you to make up full cannisters from ones that are a quarter full, for example?

Looks like it yes - you weigh a typical cannister to ascertain 'typical' full weight (to ensure you do not overfill); then using the same size empty or half full cannister top it up with the dregs found in other cannisters, irrespective of size . . .

Works best if the receiving canister is cold, just stick it in the fridge for while

the eBay adaptors are fine - I've been using one for years. What makes a huge difference is;
receiving canister cold ( pop in the freezer for 10mins)
giving canister warm (run under the hot tap for 30secs)
Can't believe what Jag are charging - it's not even as if they had invented this.

Me too,
Been using one from Ali Express for a couple of years, works exactly as it should, I've almost exhausted my supply of partially empty containers now 😂😂😂😂😂
I love it, certainly paid for itself over that time and I only use a small stove and gas canister when doing day trips 👍👍

I hadn't seen these until I saw the Scott Lloyd post earlier and then saw this thread. Great idea and solves an age old issue I've had so will be getting one, but for less than £10 on Amazon, not paying the Jag carp tax for something the camping industry seem to have been using for ages

Jag one does look 'nicer' though lol . . . several on amazon - I'm going to have a day refilling gas bottles / prepping little day session cannisters etc; actually looking forward to it bizarrely!

Don't know if this will help anyone but if you buy the msr gas as a receiver can it has float marks (you drop it in a bucket of water to gauge it) so you know how much is in there once refilled as its important not to overfill

Just weigh an empty can, then weigh a full one.
The difference is the weight of the liquid gas. A bit of primary school maths and your sorted

I mentioned the float method as if your out in the field so to speak then its an easy way of making sure you don't overfill without having to carry scales mate

Just bought one of these to consolidate my part cans . One thought I had was that ‘go system' cans empty completely but Colman don't . Is this issue caused by the gas mix or the can itself ? I didn't know whether there was an advantage to be had by using an empty ‘go system' can to put all the Coleman dregs in .
