Anyone have any info on this lake if there's any carp or anything at all,I know it's spooky but I may fish it one of the days for few hours

lol true may try and get out on my next Monday off in few weeks time just to try it out in daylight.
I have read that people have been around there and they get a feeling of being watched but no sightings of bedsheets

I'm guessing you don't have a dog ? They will pick up any shenanigans long before you do. That said, if they start to howl before legging it, I'm not sure what your next move would be apart from following suit..
Busbridge in Surrey has that sort of vibe I hear.

I've just spent four nights on one of the most significant History waters around ,all sorts of macabre and spiritual happenings ...have occurred over the decades..

Including four years ago the beast seen drinking at the waters edge ,and the huge pawprints behind my old Armo...

But,what happened the other day ,on my annual solitary excusion,is beyond all realms of human awareness...I can't write about it,nor would I ever be believed..

And no I don't drink,take any stupid drugs ,nor am I mental ,but,now I am a believer in stuff that most will of course mock ..

Electrofished years back and fish removed
Only had a handful of carp in it back then
Nothing in it now
Had 2 yrs of my fav fishing ever on there back in 93/94

Not a ghost but fishing Layfields in Norfolk about 3yrs ago. Low ish cloud and its about midnight. Come out my bivvy and above my bivvy and above the cloud is a bright light moving side to side and I would guess 200 to 300yds movement. No sound whatsoever so not an helicopter and not a patern of flight any plane could do. Watched it for a couple of minutes before it moved off probably 2 to 3 miles then it started the side to side movements again for a couple of minutes until like the flick of a switch the light was gone.

IF ,I recount the true experience I had recently, I'm only going share it if it treated with respect ,...remember....your dealing with someone who grew up in the village with the
most active covens, so I don't say stuff lightly ....


Remember ,Carp Chronicles and what happened to Sam,well I put him in that swim near the family crypt..

OK,I'll try my best to convey my recent experience, or on that particular day ,my absolute reality..

Before I start ,I want to explain I'm straight up ,and straight down ,especially in my angling it is how I live and breathe ...so what I say ,I have seen..

For many years I lived in a modern house ,but that house was built on an ancient castle burial site,ley lines and a strange atmosphere prevailed ,my mother ,although from the village said it should not have been built ,and no one supported the planning although it eventually passed...indeed it made my grandparents very angry seeing this place built ,baring in mind their cottage ,which is still in my family is two minutes away ,and over 250 years old...as I grew older I began to see shadows flicking past the dog kennels outside ,...and our shepherd always used to watch or look at something that was beyond my families conscious being,however it was at this time I used to see what I came to understand as orbs, no one in my family not even mother ,a Cornish pagan saw it only me..

What I am saying is I'm more aware of things than the average person ,I can foretell problems in society coming long before anyone else,indeed if you remember some of my posts over the years I try to pass on warnings that are not understood or ridiculed even..and I have often been correct...

So ,back to my recent reality..many many years ago I managed to gain permission to an ancient lake,very deep in parts ,set in wild untamed countryside and completely un
molested by the 21st century, this place is more significant than Bernithan Court, although its fish never reached the sizes of that famous pool..nor is it as well known,and I'm thankful for that...

For the last 13 years,once a year I get a few days on the hallowed water..this is my yearly excursion ,I look forward to it ,months before I get to go ..

The lake itself ,is over 500 yrs old,that's right you read correctly..its steeped in history ,with druids,strange rituals and more than one suicide ..To say this place has an atmosphere gives it a disservice, even in the summer,such is the density of the woodland ,its getting dimpsy by 5pm most day's..

I am not scared of the dark here,nor on any other place,I've grown up.in the countryside where we had no street lights,in fact I hate them,but anyway..on this lake even in the dark I'm not a bit scared...,you see how can one be scared if you cannot hear...!

I set up in a tight swim ,indeed its not really a swim.as most would know it just a gap in the ancient woodland..just enough to fit two rods and my brolly
I was angling well,I was happy ...I'd even bought a NGT ,xl toastie ,sorry in advance to the Trangia massive,for I have sinned for 4 days....I managed to land several feral carp to around 15lb ,those fish fought like the devil ,really powerful fish,bending my armalites in the full battle curve ,trying to keep the fish away from sunken trees that have fallen in over the decades..

After 2 days and two nights solid carp angling ,I'd not brushed my teeth or anything, personal hygiene was gone..so I reeled in my rods and walked up to the old hut ,which has a toilet ,a ramshackle but hot shower ..I'm the only angler on here ,no one was about ,the farmer was out in his landy somewhere...just me on my own....I realised I was stinking ,so I stripped off totally naked in the main room..I put my clothes in a pile on the kitchen table ,and on that pile of clothing.i placed my two oticom.hearing aids,yes that's right,as I've got older my hearing is crap..

I went into the showeroom which is separate from the rest of the hut,and locked the door and shut the bathroom window..I had my shower,and really enjoyed the feeling of not actually stinking ,this including brushing my teeth ..Still naked ,with only a towel around my lower half I went into the main room ,dried myself off,and began to dress..

After I dried my hair ,went to put my two aids on again.,but they had disappeared..a frantic search of all the hut rooms ,I looked EVERYWHERE, but those aids were gone..
I could not believe this ,I was mortified and shocked..So I gave up looking ,shaking my head in disbelief, muttering ,WTF,WTF,WTF,over and over..I went back to my brolly and searched again ,even though I knew I'd not left them in my brolly..

I carried on fishing ,after two morose hours I again reeled in.,and went back to the hut.
Again ,I searched...I got the sofas out looked underneath, I was getting desperate..!

I even emailed Treliske hospital to order two replacements,I text my lovely wife and told her as well..

I went into the bathroom once again ,only to notice the small window was wide open.i closed that window as a breeze was making it bang around I thought I needed a pee ,I lifted the toilet seat that's both of the seats and right on the edge of the toilet

( right well I typed this out ),and some of it just disappeared..

Was my two hearing aids, neatly placed right on the edge of the pan itself ..I was pleased to find them ,although I had no idea how they got there...
So I went around the back of the hut ,and shut the shower room window ,it was hard to shut,and I noticed the thick mud and debris ,which my foot prints left easily ,there was no other prints only mine..so ,as I mentioned no one was around ,and no person could get into that hut as the main door and shower room was locked firmly shut..

Now,close to this hut is the lake itself ,right in that area is a spot noted for a famous suicide and arson event many years ago..

What I have not mentioned is the year before on my other previous trip.,I have a photo of myself holding an awesome history common,behind my head is an apparition of another entity in the human form..

Now ,as I touched upon ,some of my writing has just completely disappeared, so I had to.re write it ...

Hope you enjoyed my truism ,and I get why many would dismiss it as a story, remember, no smoke without fire..or as I say in our cottage ,no pipe smoker without human..

I have seen stuff like you mentioned (glowing orbs) many years a go with my wife (gf at the time) although that wasn't whilst fishing.

I've had quite a few unnerving experiences whilst fishing, and they tend to be when fishing either publicly accessible waters or waters where feel like you are in the middle of no where and very far from civilization.

The one I will share though is not paranormal but suspected big cat related.

I used to be a member of the Twyford and district fishing club and they had access to a lake named Whistley Mill. It was the largest lake on the ticket and I was looking to make the step away from my Barbel angling, go back into carp fishing but take on a bigger challenge than the local day ticket waters.

I visited the lake after work, dressed in a suit with work shoes on (no tread in the sole) and I begin walking down the path for about a minute or 2. The lake was huge and i was surprised at just how many swims there were, made out of wooden sleepers, graveled, lots of casting room overhead yet not a single person fishing and this was the norm apparently. It was a lake that no one fished. I'm thinking to myself, this is going to be perfect to do a campaign on because my baiting spots won't get blown etc...

Whilst looking out across the lake in the dark, using only my LED head torch, i heard something moving amongst the trees behind me. I turn around and probably 50 to 80ft from me, as my head torch hits at the right angle, 2 big round green emerald spheres appear. I was starring intently, wondering what it was and if it was an animal or some reflective thing that someone had just left attached to the tree. The height of these spheres was bit higher off the ground compared to say what you would expect from a German shepherd, and they were close together opposed to being far apart that you would find on a munt jack or deer.

My curiosity was soon answered because the green spheres appeared to have eyelids, I felt extremely on edge and quickly decided it was time to leave.

I began to pace up the path in the direction of my car, trying my best not to slip over on the wet sloppy mud in my work shoes whilst every 10 seconds or so looking back.

After i had walked maybe 100 or so ft, when i turned back, the green eyes were now situated where i was previously standing.

I was close to the gate, made it through, got in the car, and just got out of there.

I didn't go ahead with the campaign

I hate the unexplained, it's just so bloody irrational...what is that Sherlock Holmes quote
