Hi all, hope you're all well.
I'm starting to look at a new landing net and would like some suggestions please. Just something that is going to last as long as possible.
I looked at the Korda one and would like opinions from those of you that have one on how you're getting on with them long term please? (I read the previous thread and seems it has its supporters, just interested on how is it a few more months down the line).
Don't recommend Dymag please as the company doesnt exist anymore and i want a new net not second hand. Thanks.
Also, Don't suggest Chris Brown please. That is the net i have at the moment just fixed it for the 3rd time in as many seasons i'm sick of it and wont be giving them anymore of my money.

Look at the Johnson Ross matrix 3k camo net lightweight ridged pole and net arms remove from the spreader nice and easy exactly what you want in landing net nice quality landing net £150 I looked at both the Korda one and matrix one and perfered the matrix 3k camo one

Korda net is fantastic. I only bought one as needed a net to fit my jag net lock as my more expensive solar bow loc didn't fit with net float. Since the purchased not used the solar at all. The springbow is so much better. Lighter, much stiffer and floats.
Will be getting a 2nd one soon. Just make sure to get the shallow net the standard one is ridiculously long

lol i did see the original deep mesh and it does look stupid. I see the theory behind it, but the shallow mesh does look better. Thanks for the review

I've bought the Matrix 3k for just that reason, though I'm using it with the Drennan Twistlock pole. I really don't like the modern type arm/spreader design with the tiny blocks and the tapered stainless spigot things.

When it arrived one of the metal tips on the net arm wasn't glued on and just fell on when i handled it. So i had to use resin to secure it in place. A while later the second tip fell off and had to be glued into place.
Recently the net cord, which is a section of single strand wire, snapped in the centre while netting a fish. So i replaced that with paracord. Kind of bored of repairing it now and will keep it as a backup.

Thanks for the replies, I had a trip planned to Johnson Ross anyway and love the look of that Matrix net Carpy09 suggested. So i think i will compare that to the Korda one in the store and see which i prefer.

I bought the Matrix net from JR, they said it was by far the best net on sale at the time. Korda net might edge it now but not on cost v value.

Whether I had the money or not I don't think I could pay much more than £75 for a landing net.

Correct but it actually was the best versus all the others they had in stock. They could of had a lot more money out of me as i told them i wasn't too bothered about the cost.

In all fairness my cord snapped on mine. The crimp gave way. Quick message and he sent me a replacement cord and crimps out.

I have 2 Chris Brown Nets and use his bank sticks and bars on the river. All light weight and will probably outlast me, i bought the bank sticks and buzzer bars second hand as well!

If you want simple and cost effective I really like my Solar Bow Lite . . .decent arm connectors (pronged like the ESP net) and a mid sized mesh; really easy to assemble / collapse and comes in a quality stink bag - bought a pair last season for under £150 . .

Well I'm not lying, it's unfortunate that I've had such a bad experience of a product that so many say is brilliant. But I have had those bad experiences.
I'm not prepared to justify myself over and over. I wish I had the same product that so many say will last a lifetime, and if I had misused the product I would of instantly owned up to my mistake. I didn't, the product broke under normal use. I hold no ill will to Chris Brown, his company or his products and wish him well. I have had a bad experience, so I don't wish to purchase anymore of his products, as is understandable in my position.
It broke, I'm now bored of fixing it and want a new, different, product. End of conversation.
