Hi All,

Has anyone had experience of spray painting material (mainly bivvy/brolly) and what type of paint would be suitable?

Why on earth would you want to spray a bivvy? In all likelihood it would damage the material

Not sure if it would damage it but I bet it wouldn't be breathable anymore

Morons with nothing better to do. You do you, if you want to spray it then spray it. Some people on here are far too concerned about what other people are doing.

To be fair, he put the post up and everyone is entitled to reply. That said, I completely agree with you in that I wouldn't pay a blind bit of notice and just crack on and do whatever you want.

I saw a non-fishing shelter the other day (can't remember the name of it) - ridiculously light and small pack down, fit all the gear etc - looked really good but it was blue, so you're not putting that up anywhere are you? It occurred to me that it could be painted, or perhaps dyed. I don't think it's safe to assume that the reason for wanting to change the colour of a shelter is always a "tarty" one.

Don't think using a tent is allowed for insurance reasons on a lot of lakes rather than the look...also a lot of tents a pain in the arse to put up and bivvies easy!
In regards to spray painting a bivvy, if it's for some fishing on a lake you're not meant to be on...probably easier just to get a hide!

Bitd I had a Andy little dome,my mate had same thing from a camping shop but was silver. So we sprayed it camo for a laugh. Looked ok as it goes. Just normal rattle cans.

It wasn't really a tent - it would have passed for a fishing shelter if it wasn't blue. Wish I could find it again!
