Does anyone know the type of file him shelley uses? I just bought a pilar file and it's the small one.

I think you might need a bottle of his nose oil to protect against corrosion once you've used his file

I love this file. 2 grades so I work both grades then finish off with the grey soft rubber blocks. Nice big surface to keep the hook central. Dirt cheap and last years

Pillar is the shape of the file, cut 4 is the abrasion. You can buy a pillar file in cut 4 in multiple sizes, if you want a larger size it will still be pillar cut 4, just find one the size you want.

Had the two Gardner Point Doctor ones for years Red & Grey recently moved over to the Thinking Anglers one two grades in one block and works very well for final honing, and reasonably priced if you can pick up in the shop.
