At dimpsy (dusk)...this woman turns up.,with two.kids ,girl about three,boy around about six..She walks around with these kids ,does a photo on her phone of them and then disappeared..
For the last 45 mins no mum..,These kids are right next to a lake that is undercut by cattle ,the girl.gets the hook in her thumb,...where is mum?
The boy is dropping litter ,running around shouting ..where is mum?
I pack up go to car park...500 yards away....ahhhhh,there is mum on her phone in her car.
Fcukin shocking ....I say hope your kid doesn't fall in and drown..!
Shouldn't be allowed to have kids ,or be in the countryside

The 'joys' of modern society, the social media whore, instant 'fame', and lack of common sense.
I used to take my children fishing when they were younger, son and daughters together, or separately, and I plead guilty to taking pictures. The difference is that anywhere near water, I was with them until they became old enough and hopefully sensible enough to treat it with respect. (I didn't, don't, hence the 'hopefully').
Years ago, I had to cross a road at a set of traffic lights at a busy junction.
A mother and her toddler and another baby in the buggy, she was on the phone, paying more attention to the phone than her children. The result of her not paying attention was not nice although there were no serious injuries, but a very shook up driver.

It was bad...shocking lack of parental responsibility..
Now the young boy was really keen...normally I'd have helped out ,tied his hook ,showed him how to cast..etc
My wife used to work at the village school,she told me to 100% avoid helping any unattended children as her experience at the school ,told her ,you can be blamed for anything today...
What an absolute craphole society we now live in,I've taught countless locals,but then my village is ruined now anyway,no one knows anyone anymore.

Not the most likely scenario but it is a possibility, if you make an non urgent call to the police then it does take time for them to answer.
If you need to make a phone call like that then best not to do it when it means leaving your kids unattended by water, if you are in an abusive relationship you don't want to give the abuser another reason to give you a hiding.

This is why ...no child should be left unattended around any deep watercourse for obvious reasons ..
The mother,was in her car,on her phone ...out of eyesight of her two young children..she was not doing her job of protecting those children at all..
The two kids were on holiday,as the little lad told me..they had zero understanding of the undercut that just goes all the way around the lake ,how do I know,I know because the lake is 1 min from my home..
This is an interesting issue because if a child was drowned or other ,there would be huge implications in the angling community ,and would reverberate to the negative unfortunately...whilst angling at a young age ,
My friend owns the lakes..,he probably would not want bad publicity directed at him and the impact if a child hurt themselves..

Poor parenting is nothing new. My dad recalled hours spent outside of the pub with his little brother in a pram while my grandmother was inside, not on her phone. I, in turn, spent many hours alone or with my cousins in a parked car while my dad was doing stuff. We'd jump about all over the place, practicing shooting out the back window before diving into the footwell, or bouncing up and down in the driving seat making tyre screeching noises while re-creating a scene from the New Avengers or the Sweeney. Can you imagine the carnage that would have resulted from one of us accidentally releasing the hand brake, or squirting de-icer into each other's eyes? My blood runs cold at the very thought of it!
While your opinion that she shouldn't be allowed to have children seems a bit harsh, the idea that she shouldn't be allowed to be a useless parent in the countryside seems illogical. Farm machinery aside, it's probably even worse leaving your kids to run around by themselves for forty-five minutes in a busy city centre. Or near a ring-road. Or a building site. Or a multi-storey car park. Or a Kwik-Fit. Or a bus station. Or a steel works. Etc.

I think people are making too much into this shouldn't have kids remark.
