Black panther users, how are you finding your pod and the carbon sticks? Any feedback greatly appreciated or any bankside shots of it would be good. No doubting the usual Keith quality but wondered if there is anything I should know before ordering? Cheers
Yes I have a three rod version. Three years use . Excellent work by Keith as usual. Bit of a wait but good things... an all that . Replaced another that cost £100 more , and was pants.

Only received mine two weeks ago so can't comment on use however as usual it's of the highest quality so I'd say buy with confidence

I had one on order but ended u going for titanium as wanted wide crossbars/buzzbars (not sure of the correct nomenclature with this type of pod) and Keith advised that the carbon wasn't rigid enough at the width.
I can't remember what he had said the max recommended for carbon was but I believe it was about 16 inches - just something to think about depending on what size you are after.
For the record I love the titanium version and have no regrets about getting this instead of carbon.

Fantastic piece of kit. Quick to set up, lightweight and stable.The only negative is that the centre shaft isn't long enough to put the butt ring in front of the alarm if wanting to fish locked up. That said, it's a lightweight pod so might not be the one for you if snag fishing is a regular thing.

I was a bit surprised by that. As my stainless defiant is much longer.
However, I decided to let that go as they manicured the swims at.my club
And they are now backboarded and smaller so not theres not much room anyway.

I was making the point that the weight of a pod is irrelevant when fishing locked up, cause if it isnt anchored well, light or heavy, its going somewhere it shouldnt. Hence why i said “if its not anchored”

I'd suggest that to rely on the butt ring up against the alarm isn't really locked up.
You really need to have butt grips that secure the rod.

Too true . I lost a rod after a ridiculously violent take on the St Lawrence River Canada
Using sort of a sky pod that was supplied by the guide. And having the ring bank side
Of the alarm. AND not even locked up lol.

Sighs.... not trying to be snarky but I was merely pointing out the pod doesn't allow you to put the butt ring in front of the buzzer. It wasn't an essay on snag fishing.

I bought a fantail last year and was nowhere near that long a wait. Think it was a few months from original enquiry to placing the order and then was 4/5 week build time

~ Centre Shafts were shortened by 5” years back due to practically everyone asking for them to be shorter. But there's no such thing as “Standard” can be made longer at request when the specifications are being sorted out for the order.
~ Putting Butt Rings on the inside of Alarms: I thought people stopped doing that many moons back when it was released that is was causing fractures in the plastic casings at the base of Alarms.
~ 18 months: possibly – as some stupid clown called Boris egged on by an even more stupid idiot called Starmer shut the whole bloody country down for 12 months, add into that the Chinese stuff did not exist, guess who was to busy to even try to make any for 12 months!
~ As for “Anchoring Down”, there six points of contact with the ground (That's 50% more than a standard “Pod”) all six have an independent ability to be driven into the ground, there's no way one should ever be able to move, regardless of weight.

i ordered my carbon one a couple a years ago and it was about a year wait then .... worth the wait though and the reason I wont mistake selling either one on

I believe my order slipped through the net as it were, however all is good , Keith has since got in touch and i am now the proud owner of a lovely titanium panther just in time for some glorious spring fishing. Really is a lovely bit of kit. Looks and feels proper solid .
