Hi all I am looking at replacing my esp paragon net due to it being like a floppy c__k when wet and has almost cost me fish a few times.
I'm looking at the fibre glass version and just wondering how stiff they are and if anyone has any experience with this version ? Also do they come with deep mesh

I have the fibre glass net and it's the best net I have ever used. Very stiff, lightweight and easy to set up and break down.
When I ordered I was concerned about should I go for the carbon or fibre glass. But when it arrived I was amazed how light it was.

Best nets on the market for me. Ive got the carbon one but would happily use the glass one as well. Totally bullet proof and will last years. I actually preferred mine over my dymag net thats how highly i rate them.

I have the carbon 42" with the 3ft extension. Can't speak for the fibreglass version but the one I have is excellent. Certainly better than the floppy ones I see everyone using on you tube .

I've had a few . The 2 piece is my favourite. I do have the fold over version which is not user friendly

I have built a number of harrison and century based nets over the years but always point people in the direction of chris,s nets first .Superb quality that will last.

Is there a noticeable difference in weight and stiffness between the fibreglass and carbon , thanks ?

I have a carbon one and my mate has a fibreglass one. Can't tell the difference to be honest!

Great nets , i have one for Catfish and can only imagine his Carp nets to be equally as good

Maybe a dumb question, but will a standard 42” net fit the CB 42”? Looks like his arms may be longer than the width of the net cord.

Love the carbon pole and arms but not a fan of the mesh mesh he uses, I fish a fairly wild lake and it seems to snag more than others and rip easily.

I use a rubberised net for pike so hooks dont snag . Any 42" net will fit chris

I have had a CB 42" carbon for donkeys years now. I've had a 42" Solar mesh on it, and a 42" Gardner mesh on it. Both fitted absolutely fine.

One item of tackle that I will take to the grave with me unless I stupidly break it somehow. That's how good they are.

I've been given numerous nets for free over the years since I've had it, including two other carbon landing nets. None were as good.

Paid for my CB net. I think I would honestly cry if I broke it, as they no longer make the reverse taper handle.

Ha i cant remember i stripped and rewhipped in green to match a set of 13ft 4lb ballistas i built for long range piking on big scottish lochs .

I have 42 inch net with a 6ft two piece carbon handle but doesn't seem to be an option on the website anymore which is a shame

Not done those for a while Harrisons imported those and supplied chris damn shame bloody good handles them.

As post #10 noticed there will be little or no difference between glass and carbon handle.

Happy with my 2 36" 2-piece glass (2x3') CB nets. Think if you ask Chris he will make you a 2x3' handle with 42 inch arms.

He will make what ever you want, hes very good if you want something different. Hes making me some 42” arms with metallic blue whippings as i just have the carbon 36” net at the minute.

Anyone on here with a Chris brown net found after time they loose tension in the arms. I've got a retired one in the garage, been sat there for years which just falls apart at the block. Ought to get it repaired really

The cord must've slipped/stretched, should be easy to fix yourself

Either that or maybe the spring pins in the spreader have closed up slightly and lost grip on the inside of the net arms. Again, easy fix or I'm sure Chris would sort it if you sent to him

It's not the cord, it's got a metal wire cord, it's just very loose at the spigot joint bit on the spreader. I mean it's had a hell of a lot of use, may send an email to see if it is repairable. Had some memorable carp in that net
