Was considering getting a baiting pole off Santa for Christmas. Initially, I quite liked the look of the telescopic ones due to their compact nature when not in use. But there are obvious limitations with a telescopic one, so I was also looking at the Bushwhacker from Nash.
I would only use it on one water initially, and that would be close in (< 5m). But I'm sure I would find other applications for it where I need to go out further. I've narrowed it down to 3 poles:
Nash Bushwhacker 15m approx Sale Price £150
Aqua Telescopic 12m approx Sales Price £70
Tackle Box CF-X 18m approx Sales Price £200 (don't know if they do sales??)
So, which one do I go for? Suggestions welcomed, with any issues anybody has had.

Definitely Nash. Can extend it to crazy distances. All the others can't. End of.
And if you're only using it say upto 5m you can just take 4 Nash sections which is compact.

I've got a corus and a bushwacker, if I had to pick one it would be the bushwacker hands down, although not as compact packed away it is much easier to use and is less fragile imo, the bushwacker head is less likely to turn over or take water on when shipping it out.

I'm after a bushwhacker and very interested to know where I can get one for £150? best I've seen is £179, please can you point me in the right direction.

It's a bit of a guess at what I'll get it for in the post Christmas Sales based on current prices. Best I've seen is £161 at Bristol Angling Centre using discount code BLACK15.

Another vote for the Bushwhacker. Initially i was dead against it but watched my mate using one and seemed to out fish most on our syndicate. Plus side as others have said is you can pretty much extend it to how far you wanna go!

100% go for the bushwhacker as it's all-round a much better option. They're light enough and pack down small enough not to be an inconvenience.
Can buy as many sections as you need if you end up fishing other waters.
Generally much better design of baiting spoon too.
I ended up going second hand and got a brand new bushwhacker with 10 extra poles and the hd carry bad for £200.

Yeah, the standard bag is a pain in the ass. Its just a black nylon bag with a pull string at one end.

I have the Nash one. I have it extendable to 46.5 metres but in truth it can be difficult to use depending on the conditions. I even modified one of my 2 spoons to fit a fishspy and a chirp+
It has its uses and it's great for finding litte holes in weed. Can be a PIA when bringing it in and picking grit up in the 1.5m sections.

I went a different route to most. I had an original Angling Intelligence 12m pole that in reality is very limited in use. 12m seems reasonable distance until you put it on the water! I bought the universal baiting pole extension kit from Tacklebox. It works a treat and it's actually 6.7m not 6m as stated. I have ended up with 3 of these extension kits plus some other extra sections that you can buy separately. In total I now have 20 1.6m pole lengths plus the 3 short sections (that all fits neatly in 2 of the extension kit bags,10 in each) in addition to my original 12m AI pole. I think it has several advantages over the bushwhacker as it is carbon not fibreglass so is stiffer, lighter and thinner. There is also no faffing about with the push buttons on the joints as it is a simple overfit joint.
I did look at the bushwhacker, but wasn't overly convinced by it. My mate has one that he can use to over 50m! But...... it snakes a lot in the water and also when used at distance which can take some time it takes on water and starts to sink. The tackle box one snakes too, but not as much and because it is an overfit joint it doesn't take on any water.
I was always a bit worried the joints may come apart in use, but have never found that to be an issue. There are some disadvantages to the over fit joint in that it can be quite difficult getting them apart, probably as I'm a bit over zealous pushing them together. I ended up putting some short lengths of shrink tube near the end of each section to help as s twist grip to take them apart. Also you have to be sure to line the joints up so you push then in straight as there isn't much play in them like on the bushwhacker. I tend to have it set up in lengths of 3 or 4 sections so not many joints to deal with in actual use. Obviously that's only doable if the swim allows.
I rarely use my original AI pole and just use the tackle box kits, unless I need that extra 12m it just stays in my rod bag.

So, what I could do is buy the cheap Aqua 12m one as I do like the idea of a telescopic one, plus initially I only need it for close in work. And then when I need to go longer, buy the TB extension. And if I end up with a few of the TB extension kits like yourself, I can ditch the Aqua one. Just out of interest, what spoon do you use on the end, presumably the AI one?

Now rather than making or modifying spoons I think I'd just get the Nash bushwhacker spoon and an adapter to fit onto a standard threaded pole end.

Yeah, I agree, was thinking of getting the allthings3d spoon - basically the Nash spoon with a 3/8" thread. Keep the small companies going I say rather than give you hard earned to the big companies!!
